My Test Results!

Hello everyone,
Tonight I was going to post another wonderful Blogazine story written by Dulcy along with my test results but did not want to take away from Dulcy's story so be sure and come back tomorrow for that post.

I finally got thru to my Doctors Nurse and she said she had be trying to call me all last week and I told her the same but they would not put me thru to her. She was calling the wrong number.

Anyway the results were somewhat a shock to me and I am beside myself right now so will make this a short post. Now that will be a first. Right!

The mass under my breast is a hiatel hernia which she said that the doctor was not as worried about that as he was about the lymph nodes around my colon are swollen.  So now I am waiting on a doctor to schedule me a colonoscopy.  Yes the dreaded oh colonoscopy test that I have never had and of course now regret that I have not ever had one.

Of course I did the big No NO and looked up swollen lymph nodes around the colon and that was a mistake. Would not be so worried but with my history of Breast Cancer I have to admit I am scared.

It's been a long weekend waiting to know something and now I kind of wish I did not know anything. lol
Once again I thank you for all the prayers and encouragement. I can not imagine not having you in my life.
It's about the only thing in my life this past year that I don't regret.

Thanks for being my friend!

Please come by tomorrow and welcome Dulcy.

Love to all
Maggie

Oh, I am so sorry that you are in the middle of tests and waiting. That happened to me earlier this year. And I too went on the Internet and regretted that I did. We never know, diagnosing illnesses is difficult for the best of doctors, so just forget what you read. Let that up to the doctors.

I will surely say a prayer that the tests go quickly and that you find out good news.

I just thought of you about 20 minutes ago. I was thinking I wonder if she kicked some bums and got any answers.
The hiatal hernia could cause some of the swallowing problems??????? Just wondering.
If you haven't had the colon test you needed to have one. The only thing bad about it is the prep.
Ask for the pills not the liquid. You are out before they do anything.....you will not feel it or remember.
Not bad really.
Could the swollen lymph nodes be from your injury.
Try not to worry too much, I know that is impossible but I do think it's good that it was a hernia....I think.....
You have alot of people out here in blog land that love and care for you. So prayers and more prayers.

I've heard the internet is a dangerous thing....just enough info to be scary...we will be hoping and praying for good test results....hang in there.....

Colonoscopies aren't too bad, and I will be praying that all is well. Hang in there, Maggie!

=)

PS. My mom has a hiatal hernia that doesn't give her too much trouble, but I know some people have to take medication for it. Still, it's a pretty benign problem, so now you'll just need to get that colonoscopy out of the way. One good thing is that they tell you the results of that immediately!

Maybe it will be ok Maggie...maybe it is associated with having to stay down so much or the fall...I have had a colonoscopy and it wasn't that bad at all...I just slept a lot after wards. It's a good thing to know about. Hang in there....:D

There's pills to take instead of the 'gallons' of liquid? My hubs had one a while back, and then he got the diagnosis of prostate cancer. The colon is ok, the prostate is getting taken care of...how do you end that sentence without a preposition? He read so much on the internet, and got himself all worked up, and the DR says he will be fine. He starts with his 5 cyberknife treatments this week, and finishes next week. Hopefully all will be well with you too.

I'm having the dreaded colonoscopy after the rest of the stuff is done.

Lots of prayers are with you! There are pills, big and lots of them and tough to swallow, but a million times better than the liquid. I'm a veteran of 4 of these procedures and the last time was so much easier by taking pills.

Hi Maggie,

Glad to hear the breast results are fine, but sorry you still have to wait for more tests.
I really hope that your results will be fine on this too.
My prayers are with you and lovely to have you as a friend, thank you.

Good news on your test results.

I have had to have several colonoscopys after my first one where there were "naughty little things", but they got all of them. Sooooo, why do I have to submit to more of them. Let me say that the test is easy because you are in never, never land.

If this weren't a public forum, I would give you a blow by blow of the night before though. I would have you in the floor begging me to shut my mouth you would be hurting so bad from laughing.

I don't know if it is true or not, but someone told me that they have a nice little pill you can swallow now and you don't have to drink something brewed in the bowels of Hell. I hope they do have a pill. Otherwise, have a book next to the potty because you will be in there most of the night. If someone stays the night with you, give them some ear plugs or you will embarrass yourself and probably them too.

In fact, maybe you need to eat something like soup without anything in it for a week or two before the cleansing. That way there will only be water and noise the night before.

I hope I have provided you with a laugh because that is what I intended for you. Remember to ask about a pill, get some ear plugs, and have a book on standby.

Keep us posted. :-) Prayers winging their way to you.

My dear, sweet Maggs:
I'll share a funny story with you tonight. I had spent YEARS (about 5) avoiding the colonoscopy. This year, my doctor said, "OK. I'll order the "home kit" for you and you can do it yourself!" Oh, yeah! I got the kit from the lab, got home and started reading the instructions. OH, NO I'M NOT DOING THAT! I called the doctor's office and told her nurse that NOW I know how the doctor wins arguments! I scheduled the colonoscopy for the following month. It's true that the prep is a little 'intense' with lots of potty time, but once I got into the room where they were going to do the procedure, I was out cold before the doctor even got there! When I woke up, it was all over, I didn't have any side effects, got home and slept like a baby all night. Results were clean and I don't have to do it again for TEN years! I can certainly live with that.

I'll continue to pray that you have positive outcomes from all your tests, and that you're healed and back to your happy self soon.

Love you,
Donna

Hi sweet Maggie.....Hernia, hugh,,,,,, must be from all that heavy lifting you've been doing while in bed! (O;(o;(O: I've had 3 colonoscopies....the junk you have to drink is somewhat of a chore....but other than that.....they put you out in LALA land.....I know you HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE(O:(O:. Don;t go on the Net checkin' things out....it is the worst place to go......Just read these great encouraging posts and I know you will sail thru this with smooth sailing.

Many hugs,

Maggie, I think the Hernia is from your sense of humor and all that laughter :)

On a serious note, I had a scare a few years ago when I almost went Home, then had to wait 3 months for my colon to be healthy enough to have the Colonoscopy. They give you good drugs that will make you laugh and it makes you lose a few pounds with the cleansing. It's really not so bad.

I'm so glad I've been blogging tonight so that I could read this and hopefully help you feel better. You are a wonderful woman. Don't be afraid.

Prayers and love to you, Marla

Its true Maggie. The colonoscopy is not bad - its the day before that is no fun! But after you take the pills/liquid.......don't wander too far from the "facilities". Trust me...you don't get a long warning! lol
Good luck sweetie.

What a pain in the "Arse!"

You get GOOD results from one test and find out you have to have another!Ackk!

I'm just glad that the lump was a hernia and not a return of the breast cancer! That IS a song to my heart!

Now, Maggie dear, we've got to get someone to do the "heavy lifting" for you-I know, hiatel differs from that standard hernia,,,,,but metaphorically speaking! And,,,No "Cheaten Penguins" will do for my Dear friend!

I'm thinkin' like a UPS driver,,you know? Reliable AND Cute? Oh,,,,,and one that can MOW! Let's work on that!

Seriously my friend,,,THIS is good news, so far! Let concentrate on THAT!

Let's just "Flush" this whole thought of Cancer down the drain! You are going to be FINE!

I love you missy! But, I think you know that, and I have been thinking about you SO much! Even doing my own little prayers....

Hugs and "Pieces,"

Maggie, dear Maggie, when it rains it pours, doesn't ! !
I've had the colonoscopy the procedure is easy, peasy. All you have to do is lay there, they do the work.
They gave me a great drug that put me at ease and I had the opportunity to see the monitor as they performed the procedure. [The doctor was nice enough to give me a polaroid of my colon, TMI, TMI. Believe me that pic was not in the same category as vacations pics that one passes around]
All this said, the hardest part was the day before the procedure and the fasting and cleansing. Yuk! Yuk! YUK!
However, this procedure is a necessity, you know that.
All your Friends here in Blogland have you on our minds and in our Prayers.
We do love you.
Hugs & ♥♥♥s,

I have been stopping in from time to time while I have been on my break to see if your test results came in. I am so relieved that the mass was nothing to worry about.

I will pray that everything with your colon is fine too. Just remember that there are a lot of people out there who are pulling for you and are thinking of you.

You are in my daily thoughts and prayers. Thank you for keeping us updated.

Oh, sweetie! At least the hiatal hernia is not a biggy,I have one, also.

The c-test is not dreadful but not fun in the prep ... I have had polyps removed several times from my Crohn's disease. You won't know they are doing a thing as they give you something to make you rest. You don't feel anything if they do remove anything because there are no nerve sensors, or something, they told me ... & I didn't.

Golly, Miss Molly! Prayers will continue for you, I pray that all this passes soon with no issues.

If only we could do something to help you but we are so far away ... we'd be there for you, trust me.

Don't be scared, think positive thoughts.
Love ya! Marydon

HEy Maggie! Just dropping in to see if you are ok! Sorry to hear about your news- try not to worry too much about the colonoscopy- really, the prep they make you do is worse than the actual procedure (no solid food for a day-- hardest thing ever for me!!) But I know you will get through this just fine! ;) Everyone here is praying for you- Try to rest your mind....

Yes, think positive thoughts, the cleansing will be good for you, and they can do so much with that colon, they have made tremendous strides, I know those who've had, parts removed, cysts removed, all of them are fine now.
You will be too!

No pun intended...

I had a colonoscopy last year and I thought the prep was awful. I (#@!&) my guts out. And then when the test was over and I came to I puked my guts out. I don't do well when I'm put under. Now don't let this scare you, cause I'm just weird with medication of any kind. I did have to have a (I can't spell it without spellcheck)removed, but now all is great!
Sending you big huge hugs

Ok Maggie, I have to tell you my colonoscopy story. First off, I work at the hospital that did the dirty deed. I chose a great Doc that I don't work with...no need to look at him every day after he has seen parts of me Jack doesn't even care to know about. Plus he gives a ton of drugs so I wouldn't remember a thing. Well, I do remember a few things...the prep for one. No food, and something to drink that wasn't that bad, and bonding with my toilet. I also remember him saying I didn't have an appendix. I forgot to mention that to him I guess. So, I had no pain and I woke up fairly quickly and Dr. Poop said I have a "beautiful" colon. I think I said "gee, thanks"...then I went home and slept...and passed gas. Sorry, that might fall into too much info category. Anywho, 2 weeks later I happened to run into Dr. Poop in the cafeteria. The first time ever that I have seen him at work. I'm dressed in my scrubs, hat and I'm sure he won't know me...he says" Hi Kathy". OMG! I immediately check to see if my bum is hanging out or something, because that's the only thing he really looked at for any length of time.So much for choosing a Doc that didn't know me. But then again I do have that "beautiful colon".Must be unforgettable. The best part of the whole thing? I lost 8lbs..which tells me 2 things: 1..I eat too much and 2..I don't poop enough.. So don't worry at least you won't meet your Doc in the cafeteria!

Hi Maggie, I have had one and as everyone else has told you the worse part is what you have to drink. They do have flavored that helps a little, but it is still yuck. You will need to have someone there with you when the doctor talks to you because of just coming out of lala land. Have whoever ask questions, I always write mine down so they know what I want. You will come through with flying colors. It really isn't bad. They told me they were giving me medicine to make the lights go out and it did. Stay calm. We are all saying prayers for you. Take care.
