Get Busy Living!

Every day I think things will slow down and I will be back on here visiting with you but it's just not happening. We are behind on our rainfall but it has not slowed my mowing down.

I am still dealing though with trees that are dying and having to be removed.
This one was right next to the house so I naturally I wanted it gone right away.
This is just a sample of what a mess going on right outside of my front porch.
I tried downloading more pictures but google is not cooperating with me this afternoon.

It seems all my pictures are showing up on here sideways. What in the world is wrong with Blogger?
I was trying to show you a picture of my closet. The other morning I heard a strange noise and went looking for where it came from and  to my surprise the rod in my closet had fallen. All my clothes were of course on the floor. What a mess!

This called for a trip to Home Depot to buy hardware for the closet. These walls out here are all solid old wood and man was that fun trying to drill holes so I could get the rod back up.

I did manage to get rid of a lot of clothes I have not worn in over a year. You know you have too many clothes when your clothes rod breaks. hee hee

Just a few days before the closet fell Tinkberbell and I were woke up during the night by a loud noise and she ran one way I ran the other. lol The next morning I found a big shelf in the living room had fallen. Broke a few of the pictures I had on it.

Nothing like thinking someone is kicking your door down. I hate it when I have to grab my gun and walk around like Barney Fife checking everything out.

Saturday morning about eleven I was leaving the house when I looked over to the open field in the front of my house. I noticed an animal having trouble walking. I ran toward it praying it wasn't my cat Billie Sue but it was. She had been hit by a car and was trying her best to make it back to the house.

One look at her broke my heart. I knew she was hurt bad and I hated to move her. I called the cowboy but he was not home. So I wrapped her up and drove her to the nearest Vet Clinic.

Her left leg was broke so bad they could not put a cast on it. She had to have surgery today and will be fine. I may get to pick her up tomorrow. I am really anxious about seeing her but scared too that I may not be able to take care of her properly.

Tinkerbell does not realize it but her whole world is about to be turned upside down. She is getting a new room mate because no way can I leave Billie Sue outside anymore.

None of my outside cats have ever went to the highway at least I have never seen any up there. I am guessing something might have chased her there during the night. I had been letting her and Momma Kitty in the bathroom at night but Momma Kitty had her babies and so she has been outside with them since.
Billie Sue was letting me bring her in alone but she soon realized she would rather be outside and I quit chasing her to put her inside. Now I really regret it.

Of course the vet bill is out of this world crazy. I feel guilty spending money that I need to keep in savings but I just could not give them the word to put her to sleep when they told me she would be like new again. She is only a year old born on my brother Billy's birthday last April. That is why I named her Billie Sue.

My sweet kids have reservations for us to spend the weekend at the beach. It's a late Birthday celebration  for me and now I am not sure I will be able to go because of having to take care of my cat. Christi is having trouble finding a place to leave her dog so we may just have to cancel and try again some other time.
Talk about depressing I have been looking forward to this trip for a while now.

I know you hear this all the time but I do think of you often and hope to catch up with you soon. Somehow I have to figure out how to manage my life better where I can enjoy things like blogging again. What's that saying Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying! I feel I need more in my life but What?

Blogazine Guest Terra!

Hope all is well with you tonight! I am so excited that I have a very sweet, lovely and talented fellow blogger that has graciously agreed to be my next Blogazine Guest.

It has been fun getting to know Terra out here in this fabulous world of blogging so I thought you too would love to meet her.

When I thought of the Blogazine idea on here a few years ago it was because I know everyone of us has our own story to tell . Also I want my blog to be like one big family and I felt by doing this my blogging friends could meet friends of mine they have not yet met.

So meet and welcome Terra of  the blog Terra Garden!

Hi Maggie,
I am charmed that you invited me here to your Blogazine and I can see I am in good company.
My creativity is partly expressed in writing, and I have two books published with gals I met in an online writing group.
The first in our series is “Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts: Stories to Warm Your Heart and Tips to Simplify Your Holiday”, and our new book is “Scrapbook of Motherhood Firsts: Stories to Celebrate and Wisdom to Bless Moms.”

Our mom book is an ideal Mother’s Day gift, baby shower gift or an anytime gift for a mom you care about. New moms and seasoned moms will gain some tips and definitely some smiles, and also some recipes.
We include lots of short tips, like how to calm a child, and lots of humor. We share recipes kids can make, including my recipe for banana, chocolate chips, and marshmallows, perfect for putting on the grill outside or for baking in the oven. See Trish’s easy to make strawberry ice cream recipe, and her tip from her mom “Give yourself a break. Aim for a C on your housekeeping or cooking report card and know that it will all be okay in the end.”

The Internet and the blogging world connect people in a friendly way, and my co-authors have become my friends. Two live in Ohio, two in Texas and me way out here in California.
Can you believe we wrote this book in harmony and have never all met each other in person? When we wrote our first book we joked we would all meet when Oprah would interview us on her TV show.  Ha ha, that didn’t happen.
My co-authors are Leslie Wilson, Cathy Messecar, Karen Robbins and Trish Berg. Writing is something we do on our own, and is a bit lonesome, so it is great to have writing partners for my books.
Our books are each hardcover, charming color on each page and I think the price is low, about $12.
Another passion of mine is gardening, and if you saw our garden, you might not know that, because I have lots of weeds so it looks kind of wild which the songbirds appreciate.  I also have lots of flowers, vegetables, shrubs, bird feeders, bird baths and a chaise lounge for sitting in and reading. If I sit still the birds ignore me and become very bold.
My hubby and I have been married for 41 years and are happy that our adult children live nearby. Our sons are the ones I practiced my parenting on, as I garnered the tips for our mom book. And our kids still love me, thank goodness.

Hope you enjoyed reading about Terra. Please click on her site Terra Garden  and visit her fun Blog.

Thank you Terra for doing this story for me. I have been wanting to start back up with my Blogazine Stories and I appreciate you helping me do so.

You know I would love to have you as my next guest so just send me your story to maggiemallard888@yahoo.com.

I am had a bone density test today and found out that I am no longer 5'1" it seems I am now all of 4'11". How disturbing is it to find out your shrinking.

Since finding out that I am a walking Heart Attack last week I have given up all the foods I love. Giving up cookies is a big sacrifice but a must along with all the southern fried foods I so enjoy.

Last week when the doctor was running all these test on me she came into the room and mentioned she wanted to do a Pab Smear Test on me and I immediately spoke without thinking which happens a lot with me and I told her " OH No.....I don't think so No one has been down there in years and we weren't going to start today!"

I meant that I no longer need this test run but of course it did not quite say it in the way I meant to say it.
You should of seen the look on her face but thank goodness when I explained what I meant to say she died laughing.

For all of you who have had dreams of me and the cowboy getting together well I wanted to tell you our crazy adventures out here on the North Forty are soon to be over because my boss has ask him to move because she hates the house he lives in and wants to bull doze it down.

He is of course upset because he loves living out here. I feel bad for him but the house he lives in is in bad shape and I can understand her not wanting to spend the money on it.

Have a wonderful weekend and always I think of all the thousands of blogs out here you could be visiting but you are here with me so boy does that make me feel special and very Happy. Thank you for being my friend.

Love to all
Maggie
