Just Needed To Look Up!

Good morning and what a glorious morning this has been for me. So I am sending you my good wishes that you too find the peace and serenity I found just by soaking in my old claw foot tub this morning.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine here in my little country town took me to the big city and she wanted to stop by Bath and Body Works. Her son had given her a gift of some Eucalyptus Stress Free bath soak from there and wanted to buy another bottle. Well I smelled the stuff and thought I guess I can spare twelve dollars for some stress relief.

This morning I thought hey give that stuff another try who knows it might help you. So I fill the old tub up with it crawl inside without looking at myself in the old mirror attached to the antique dresser and I lay back and relax.

Up above my tub and as high as the ceilings are five small windows. Very odd for this ole farmhouse but maybe today I found out why their there. Don't ask me how long I have lived in this house.

Okay back to lying back and relaxing. I now can see the top of the magnificent oak trees that surround this ole house and I start talking out loud to God. I tell him how grateful I am for everything he has given me these 64 years of my life. I then am apologetic to him for not being the Christian person that he deserves from me. Soon I am telling him about you. It seems you always come out along with my family when I talk to God. I explained to him that when he nudged me into starting a blog to journal my thoughts that he knew exactly what he was doing.

He was bringing Christians into my small life left and right. I told him how much I enjoyed reading about you and praying for you. I noticed then the clouds started moving. All of sudden I had a slide show of the most awesome cloud movement right in front of me.

I laughed at how the clouds were preforming just for me. I then thanked God for waving back at me and telling me I did not need to spend money for stress relief. All I needed was to look up and remember how Blessed I am for my life with you.

Hope you have a very safe and Happy Holiday weekend.

Love to all

I almost forgot to share this picture of me when I got out of the tub and dressed for my day! Just in case the cowboy rides by I wanted to show him my new shorts.

You do make me smile Maggie! I thought you were going to say that a group of hot air balloons was flying over and taking pics of you soaking in the tub...then the final pic really made me smile. When I'm in the checkout and the "Cosmo" issue is staring at me I always tell Jack how embarrassed I am that my pic in on the cover again..that gives both of us a chuckle! Thanks always for the prayers. I love this blogging world also for the good people I've met here. Thanks for a fun post and I hope that soak helped!

What a lovely grateful post Maggie. I think that I'm overdue for a good soak too. My poor body aches and pains and I'm in need of uninterrupted sleep.

Funny how we always look for joy outside ourselves but it's inside of us all the time, hiding behind ungratefulness.

I'm so glad that you took the time to pamper yourself while looking at the clouds and talking to God and thinking of us.

Oh , my goodness, I have to run to Bath and Body Works to get me some of that Eucalyptus Stress Free bath soak. It's unbelievable how fast it works on the body... I won't be able to find a cowboy around here though, only an old worn out farmer. hehehe. Have a nice weekend.

Hugs, JB

Ya know I love you bunches too and I also talk to God about you and hpe grateful I am he lead me to your blog. I tell him what a great sense of humor you have and , trust me , he's ok with you NOT being one of those uptight women squeek when they do their " slightly too pious" walk by..
You are good Just the way you are and we are all blessed to have ya as a Pal.

Now I know what my soaks are missing. A window. I do often talk to God then also as soaking makes me feel quite peaceful and appreciative.
Your picture looks a lot like me last year. We could have been separated at birth:))

Whoa! I need to run to the tub to soak for a while if I can get the same results which you got!!

Blog friends are "real" friends and it is a joy to share the life of so many wonderful people. You are a gem, Maggie. Love your conversation with God. I talk to him especially when I'm in the car alone, but the bathtub idea is one I'm gonna take for you. Thanks for being a lovely example!

You sure look pretty in your little shorts. I'd definitely say you are ready for whatever adorable man comes along :)

A good long soak sounds perfect right now. I do some of my best thinking in a hot tub. Sounds like you do too.

Thanks for being so supportive. This breast cancer sure does a job on the mind, more so than the body right now. At least for me. Love your encouragement.

Your description of the tub mirrors an image I have of the fantasy bathroom in my fantasy beach cottage that someday will be real! Hey, lookin' good in those shorts! And, I talk out loud to God all the time -have ever since I was a little kid. People probably thought I was nuts then and I guess I still am :) Always good to be reminded by the simplest of pleasures how truly blessed we are - I have had to do much of that along this road trip - when I've felt a bit overwhelmed I always come back to how abundant and blessed my life really is. Especially today, because I'll spend it with my family xoxo

Too bad my bionic knees do not allow the luxury of soaking in a tub. Oh well my tub has no windows at any height.

But I infrequently get to sit outside on our covered deck and often have a similar siloquy.

We plan a quiet holiday, but I doubt it ends that way, except for church. And sometimes that is not what you expect. Just LIFE.

You just made my day! Some of my best prayer time is in the shower, but I bet soaking in a bath looking at the clouds beats that!
