Pretty Wall Paper!

Look at these pictures one of my girlfriends sent me from browsing the web!

She knows my love for old vintage wallpaper! Years ago when I had a ceramic shop I would use paper like these to cover all kind of pieces.

What would you cover with these two pieces? I definitely see a lampshade from the pink foliage print and how about a wedding journal or picture book out of this wedding paper. So many things you can do with wallpaper.

Here is one of the pictures she found of lampshades from vintage paper. Aren't these pretty lamps. I ask her to send me the web site so I could include it in this post.

Forever I have loved beautiful handmade lampshades. Maybe now that I am going to have a little free time I might try making lampshades for my bedroom.

How about this night light shade? It made me think of my lovely friend Susan from Georgia who has a Birthday tomorrow! She has the creative blog Art of Mine. Be sure and go by and wish Susan a Very Happy Birthday......and while your there enter her sweet giveaway!

Before I close tonight I wanted to add that I am okay.......thanks to all of your kind encouraging words this past two weeks I will make it.  I received some lovely emails, cards and my dear friend Libbie sent me one of her homemade candles. Talk about smelling good. Can't wait to show you a picture of it.

Christi made it back from her house sitting job and will be here until the 15th. Gosh this will be a fast week knowing she is leaving next Monday. There are no words for how much I have enjoyed her coming back home for the last few months. Refreshing to have two sweet young ladies living out here. Gretchen gave her notice to leave Oct 1st.  I have to get busy with my writing so Gretchen can edit it before then. I know how fast time flies so I need to put words to paper. Researching German Immigrants to Texas has taken a lot of my time but very interesting.

Right now my daughter is watching Big Brother and is making me laugh because she is stressing out over who is going to be put up for Veto. How funny! Never watched this until this season and only watching it now because I have her here watching it. As far as TV I could seriously cancel my Dish TV and probably not even notice it was history. lol

As always sending much Love to All

Maggie

I love the wallpaper.
When I was making the photo wall board for my son's wedding reception I was trying so hard to find vintage wallpaper.
Was having NO luck.

Ya, we don't have cable and I think my TV is on for 1 hour a week. That's to watch NCIS.

Hope you have a great week!

Thanks for visiting and your kind words. Good luck in the giveaway.
The inspiration of uses for the wallpaper is fantastic. I love wallpaper and once had it all over the house. Boy is it hard to remove.
Better to enjoy it in one of these great project ideas. Love the lampshades.
I am your newest follower.

Gorgeous examples of wallpaper being put to very creative use! I'm so glad Christi is headed back home for a few days and that Gretchen will be there a while longer as well. Also, I admire your strength and stamina during this difficult time. My thoughts and best wishes for a wonderful new phase of life to come you way -- with lots of daily delights along the way.

I love the vintage wallpaper. I used to use wallpaper for wrapping gifts, but this is too pretty for that. It should be used for something that one would keep...lamp shades would be really nice.

So glad that you are doing a little better. I am too and that is good!

I hardly ever watch T.V. I would much rather read. Dick watches it a lot and I have learned to sorta tune it out while I read. I do like to watch the dancing shows and American Idol (although not as much as I used to. I'm not into the new judges)

Take care and keep on keepin' on.

Love,

Darlene

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes Maggie :)

Ooh I love both those papers but I'm just drooling over the top one!

I agree it would make a wonderful lampshade - hey perhaps that could be your next adventure, a home decor business! xx

Hi Maggie,
I love wall paper too, but it is such a big commitment to put it up on a wall :-S But using it for lamp shades and other stuff is a wonderful idea.

So glad you are doing better, keep it up please.
Funny, I really don't like wall paper but on lamp shades, it is really neat. Cool idea.
October is still a ways off, so get working on that book so Gretchen can critique and help.

Hi Maggie Sweetie...
So happy to see you still have a sense of humor and are looking into new paths to choose. I know this is hard for you. Keep searching your heart sweet friend, I know there is an answer there somewhere.

I love seeing the North 40. It is so beautiful, and the gazebo and the pond, what a peaceful, relaxing place to be. I know Sis would sure love to have you pop out there for a vacation. What a wonderful time you two would have. (or I should say 3)

You are in my prayers sweetie. Was so sorry to hear about the termination, but not surprised. They smile in your face, and then stab you in the back. I would definitely say something smells fishy around there, and it isn't the pond either.

Take care sweet friend. Have a wonderful evening. Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

Well, Hello, Miss Maggie!!
So nice of you to pay me a visit and thanks so much for your thoughts and your paryers!!
I am doing okay right now. The cooler temps that we have been having are a blessing to me. I do much better in the Fall and Winter...less swelling and I can tolerate being outside more with less sun.
I have my appt. with my surgeon on Aug. 18th so I will have a better idea of what is in store for me as far as my future goes but I do beleive strongly in everything happens for a reason!
I hope all is well with you and thanks so much for stopping by!
How is your back? ( It was your back that was giving you trouble or was it your hip)
Let me know....

Hugs,
Deb
