How are YOU! Boy it is cold this morning so I going to write this post really fast so I can warm my brain and hands up.
This past weekend was a wild ride in more ways than one. My friend and boss had tickets to see Glen Beck and Bill O' Reilly for their Fresh and Bold tour around the country so after debating about it for several days I agreed to go. It was a roller coaster ride from the time we left the house until I landed at my door last night. If you can picture two ole women who function pretty good on their own mentally day to day but when you mix the two it is like an that oil spill in the gulf.
I know YOU call me a tease but I promise in a few days to write some of those spills we had on our adventure. This morning I have to tell you my experience on the way home from her house. First of all before you read this and judge too harshly remember I had just experienced more things in two days than I had in a lifetime. So with that said here goes my hopefully not too long story.
I left my friend safe and sound at her gorgeous Victorian home and started for my trip home. My neighbor Gretchen had been waiting to hear about my trip so I phoned her while driving home. Well the two of us laughed and talked almost all the way home. In all honesty it was me talking and her laughing.....about 40 minutes later I can not for the life of me figure out my lights. It was turning dark and I had my lights on already but I could not see very well. I told Gretchen that something was not right. You know how your use to seeing everything a certain way when your driving and I was just not seeing it. Everything looked so different. Even the inside dash lights were barely noticeable. I kept fooling with my lights thinking this ole fool had forgot to turn them on but no they were in the on position and no one seemed to be having a problem with me and I could see the road but just not that well. I hate to admit this to you but this went on for a lot of miles and I even told Gretchen several times I just can't figure out these lights.
Well about 5 miles before I get to the ole farm house I feel something on my face. Yep I had glasses on. I reached up telling Gretchen why would I have my glasses on because I only wear glasses to read. I jerk them off and immediately I can see. It was like someone had turned the lights on. YOU guessed it! I had my sunglasses on the whole time. It seems I was so excited to tell her my adventures that when the sun went down this ole woman did not remove her sunglasses.
Is that not scary? Hope my kids don't read this it might get them busy choosing my rest home a lot sooner.
Of course, that just gave Gretchen another reason to laugh out loud but for me it was like OH GOD what is wrong with me!
About the Glen Beck show. I am not a Fox News junkie but my friend is and I know from the crowd that was there she is not the only one. I do have to tell you one thing he said that blew my mind. He was talking about the President and how he did not handle the oil spill in the Gulf and then he says," If they would have just used Joy Behar mouth to cover the leak it would of solved two problems. ''
He of course got a lot of hoorays for that remark. Joy Behar is the red head on The View. I don't keep up with that show either. In fact I am wasting my money by paying for Dish TV.
Of course when Bill O'Reilly appeared on stage he joked about the women on the View and how they walked out on him while he was there on their show. He loved it that they did that just more publicity for him. Wait til I tell you what he said about Barbara Walters. WOW
Keep in touch for my continued coverage of my trip. But right now I want to remind you of my giveaway that ends on the 8th. Have not a clue what day the 8th is on this week but I am sure it is soon. So if you have not entered please go to that post and sign up to win a very generous gift certificate from our friend LuLu Kellogg.
Off to clean my bedroom and find something warm to put on I am freezing. lol....I need to make candy and decorate too. Christmas was so much more fun when I was a kid and all I did was search the house for hidden gifts and wait on Santa. Now it is run here, buy that, do this, don't forget that, make this, order that, decorate everything even the cat. hahahaha
Love to all
Maggie

It's a good thing I wasn't in the car with you, cuz I would have let you leave your sunglasses on your face and laughed all the way home.
It's awesome that you go to that tour. It must have been a riot from the beginning. Very intelligent men, even is a bit brassy.
Hope you get the house all decorated!
Oh my! You have fun right by yourself don't you?
Oh my gosh - I never suspected sunglasses when you started your story LOL But I have to tell you that dark or light, if it's raining REALLY hard and you can hardly see out the windshield - put those sunglasses on and you'll be able to see. Not kidding here!
Maggie, That's too funny. Can't wait to hear the rest of your escapade.
It can only get better as you grow older. JB
Maggie, too funny! Bet you are a hoot to be with with. My hubby is a huge GB fan, not me at all. By the way, the 8th is Wednesday! Just sayin'....
LOL, Maggie! Leave it to you to have left your sunglasses on! : ) You are a riot. It sounds like you had a great time and I'll bet you're glad you went now. Can't wait to hear more!
LOL That is SO funny. And don't beat yourself up about it; stress does funny things to you. You have certainly had enough of that lately.
I did something similar when I went to the bank. I need glasses to read and write. When I was done at the Versateller, I pulled out, till wearing them and went on my way.
Oh, dear Lord!
What is wrong with my eyes?
Duh!
I would never waste my time watching The View.
More like, The Tunnelvision.
Hugs
Oh that made me laugh so hard. I can't believe you had on sunglasses!
That is just too funny Maggie...I think I am getting there too cause I sure can do some cooky things too. I think I agree with Glen on that statement! ;D
HAHHAHAHAHAH That is PRICELESS! I LOVE IT! YOU ROCK GIRLY!
xoRebecca
Maggie, Harold just got done reading this & is laughing his pants off. Now it is my turn ... I love Glenn Beck & Bill O'Reilly ... Glenn is a TEACHER, Bill is an adviser ... they teach us things we may not know nor ever have learned or heard of. I'd LOVE to attend one of these events. So glad you all had a grand time.
Now Harold has done the sunglasses thing himself so I got a grand laugh over this. It was one of those 'smack my head' moments when he realized what he had done.
Hug & love, awaiting the next sequel ~
Marydon & Harold
Your sunglasses!! Too funny!!! I laughed at that one Mags!!! I can't wait to hear more of your stories!
Maggie you have got to get the glasses that change from sun to regular. I got them when I only needed reading glasses because they were always on my face so I wouldn't forget them.
I bet that show was funny. Can't wait to hear what he said about Barbara.
I can just see you driving in the dark laughing. ((((HUGS))))
What a fun report! I can't wait to hear more...And that sunglasses story is hilarious!
=D
Maggie, you always make me laugh!!!!!! The sunglasses story is so funny. I can't wait for part two of this story.
You know, Maggie, everytime we do something like this we do question our sanity.
I know your comment about the kids picking out a rest home was supposed to be funny what we keep wondering how long it'll be before that truly happens. Gad, life is just tooooo funnny ! ! !
Laughing is good for our souls.
Waitin' to hear the rest of the story. :^)
Maggie I hate to say it but only you would manage such a thing. haha
I have to admit it but I laughed pretty darn hard when I read this because I can just picture you trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
Well I should not laugh now something like it will happen to me.
Glenn Beck that is very interesting show you got to see. Saw him at the Alamo a couple of years ago and was very glad I did. It was a great show. A little boy was there selling stickers that said I fought at the Alamo so of course I had to buy one.
Not many people like Joy Behar so I can imagine the roar Bill received from that joke. Please please tell us what he had to say about Barbara. I know that there is no love between any of them.

Maggie, you always make me laugh. I do the same type of stuff like you did with your sunglasses. My daughter that's a teacher says that I have ADD (you know when I was a kid there was no name for how I acted)and maybe, just maybe you have a touch of ADD also?? :) Love ya.
That is sooo funny Maggie! You always make me laugh and that's why I enjoy your blog...I have my feelings about the view women, but I'm a good girl so I'll keep them to myself...Your story did remind me of my Mom's tale of getting mad when she got in her car and wondered who had put the seat so far back she couldn't reach the steering wheel...until she realized she was sitting in the back seat. Have a great week and don't let Christmas get you too stressed..just keep the fun stories coming!
Hi Maggie, I enjoyed your post and the comments tonight made me laugh. I needed a good laugh after the kind of day that I had. I have listen to both Glenn Beck and Bill Reily. I don't watch the view because they are on while I am at work. Joy has a show after Nancy Grace and I can't stand her big mouth excuse me I hope no one takes offense, but that is just how I feel about her. Have a great week and I will waiting for more of your adventure. Your Missouri Friend.
Maggie,
THAT is too funny...do we need to make you a sign to hang from your visor; 'check for glasses' before driving?
You are a hoot and so glad you were able to get out and enjoy yourself!
Maggie, is it mean that I am laughing at you?? Girl you are so funny.
Heeeehehehehhe, ya crack me up girl!!! Here I was afeared ya were goin' blind or something! Sunglasses. Back when I turned 40 and the kids were still home their favorite song was, "We'll put her in the home." Sang to the tune of Farmer in the Dale. Oh, what little talents they were!!!!
God bless and have an incredible day...I've been makin' fudge today! Mmmmmmmm........
Καλημέρα! είμαι η Ρία από την Ελλάδα! Είναι πολύ όμορφο το site σου! Δεν ξέρω Αγγλικά! Αλλά ειμαι πολύ χαρούμενη που σε γνωρίζω!
So funny. It is like looking for something that you are holding in your hand. Not a fan of either man. I never watch Fox News. Have a wonderful day and thanks for the belly laugh.
Where are your sunglasses now? Might be wise to have the right ones on if you are making candy, especially divinity.
Maggie~
It sounds like you had a lot of fun! I had to laugh about the sunglasses though. How funny is that. Don't worry...rest homes don't take people for those kind of things. I can't wait to hear more about your trip.
Take Care!
Love Ya!
~Dan~
You are so good for a morning laugh.
I can't wait to hear more.
I have done things like that also. It is good that we can laugh at ourselves also.
Have a great day.

Maggie, thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I probably shouldn't leave a second comment on this post as you have so many to read. It's no wonder that you think that you are loosing your mind. It's just your body (which is attached to your head) telling you to slow the pace and take a rest. I love hearing from you like everyone else.
Take care, Hugs JB
Oh wow - I love this cartoon!!
See? You make my day because I need to have a giggle and now you've done that for me...thankyou!! That show must have been amazing...wish I had been there! Can't wait to hear what he said about Barbara!
As for the sunglasses incident, it reminds me of my dear mother who used to ask all the time, "Have you seen my glasses?" And they would be on the top of her head...she was fun too!!!
I am so glad i discovered your blog. I like your personality. You sound like me; veronica
Funny lady! I am heading right there with ya. I sure would have loved to go the the Glenn Beck show..I feel like Fox news is a guilty pleasure. Joy Behar is so annoying. I can't even watch 5 minutes of that show she is on.
