My Secret Guest!

Do you recognize this lovely lady?

How about now? Maybe if she had her pink hat on you would know her.
If you guessed Marydon at Blushing Rose you got it right!

This is Marydon and Harold Ford who surprised me with a visit while they were here in Texas. Needless to say when she told me they were coming to see me I was stunned and it actually did not sink in until they were here.
Marydon and Harold make quite the pair. They can actually finish each other sentences and are a joy to watch them together. It is comforting to know that there are happy loving couples still existing together and that is one thing I have enjoyed from all of you is reading about your happy marriages.

Marydon surprises her fellow blogging friends with visits. Mine was preplanned but she told me that all of her other visits are just a knock on their door. She then tells them they have a delivery and she gives them one of her beautiful Christmas Ornaments. Thank goodness I had a few days to pick up around my ole farm house because that girl took some pictures. lol  Being in law enforcement I don't show my pictures very often but hard to tell this Maryland girl No!

Since this was such a special visit I had to cut some roses and bring out the best China and Crystal.  Of course I had to use my pink china since I know Marydon is a pink lady too. Blogging friends deserve the extra attention. I even took off my patch work quilt that I use for a table cloth and put my favorite one that my Aunt Dorothy made for me years ago.

I changed the menu three or four times after talking to Marydon about what she could eat. Turns out I went simple with a Chicken Salad, cold cuts, different cheeses and crackers with lots of fruit. For dessert I made a cheesecake with cherries on the top.

We visited for several hours and got to know each other better. It was my very first time to meet a online friend and it is a day I will always look back on and smile. If you follow Marydon at Blushing Rose you know how sweet and kind she can be. Well let me tell you once you meet her you know instantly that she is a good good friend to keep.

What a blessing this visit was for me and it made me want to meet all of you. Two days and seven months ago my life changed forever when I hurt my neck and back at work. It was a horrible accident and I honestly think that I have ruined my back and may never be able to work again. Today proved my fears when I could barely get out of bed this morning.  What I am getting to is without you out here in this world of blogging I would of never made it through these 7 months but you have left me generous notes of encouragement and you even read my post that are just plain silly. hahahaha Believe me when I say I appreciate each and everyone of you. I am so very Thankful for my dear sweet friends out here and looking forward to being like Marydon one day and just knock on your door. lol

Gretchen invited me over for Taco's tonight and so I am looking forward to catching up on her writing and trip to London. She mentioned having Tommy Lee Jones as the main actor and director for one of her screen plays so I volunteered to be his wife. I mean someone has to do it. Right?

Love to all
Maggie

Love your tablescape. Menu sounds divine as well.

Hi Grandma Yellow Hair, since you could cut some roses today you must be in a warmer climate than me and probably don't need to burn the naughty book to keep warm, lol... Sorry about your neck and back injuries. I had a nasty fall last January and I've been seeing a chiropractor for almost a year. I still have lingering discomfort.

What a lovely couple. It's nice that you got to meet your Blogger friends. I'll have to check Maggie's blog.

I'm looking forward to read your blog. Mine is suffering from being unable to upload some photos since last evening. I hope that you will be able to read some older posts. I've been blogging everyday since August 2nd, 2010. JB

Now I want to come and visit you! What a wonderful treat to meet a blogging friend - especially one that sounds so sweet.
You really rolled out the red carpet with your pink china and special quilt. I am sure it will be a memory you both love for years to come!

Maggie,
How exciting to meet and spend a little time with a blogger buddy! As soon as I win the lottery I might knock on the door of your little farmhouse. Good lord, we would have a few laughs.
I know the last 7 months have been difficult Maggie. Keep the faith and your darling sense of humor. That can get us all through a lot of bad days.
Luv ya, Kim

How neat, Maggie! That had to be fun! I've been thinking of setting something up for Long Island bloggers after the holidays. I think it's got to be a lot of fun to meet people in person who we just "chat" with through our blogs and comments.

God bless you sweetie and enjoy your day!!! :o)

How fun to meet a blogging friend. I hope if anyone wants to show up here to let me know I will need to clean. I have been cleaning for a month for this one party that is held at night and the lights will be low. My daughter said oh mom if they can't see it why clean it? I taught her well = )

It sounds like you had a wonderful time! I would just love to be able to travel and meet all my fantastic bloggy friends...wow, what a trip that would be.
I would need a driver though and a big 'ol RV so I could lay down a lot. Bad backs really put a crimp in the traveling.
take care Maggs, talk to you soon.

Hi Msggie, I enjoyed your post tonight. It is so much fun to put a picture with a name. Enjoy your roses because you wouldn't have them here. We are in the low 20's had a little snow and the windchill makes it feel colder yet. I know about your back. Mine has been bothering me more lately and I think I have found the culprit. I think it is a side effect of the blood pressure medicine that the insurance company said I had to try before they would let me have the medication that I know works. I think if I had a book like the one in the previous post I would burn it.
Enjoy your warmer weather, you could send a little of it my way. Have a great day. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that the back gets better. Your Missouri Friend.

Sweet precious forever friend, Maggie ~

We had the most delightful visit with you, long overdue. You are a gracious hostess of elegance & beauty, comfort & sweetness. The delicious luncheon was so beautifully set & presented, those precious pale delicate pink roses just for lil' ol' me! were luscious.

From the first time we started speaking on the phone I told you when my feet hit TX soil, I'd be there ... how could I not finish the bonding in person. I love you, Maggie ... forever!

And, those yummy candies you made for us ... folks, write & ask her to make them for you, she can start a NEW BUSINESS via mail ...

Jewels on ones fingers can never hold a candle to the jewels of a true friends heart ... you are bigger than diamonds, Maggie, my friend of the heart.

About time for us to come up with another 'friend' to 'pop in' on, don't ya think?! Hmmmm ...

So sorry about your back still giving you fits, sweetie ... maybe it is time to visit Mr. Studly to give you that 'perk' again ... chuckle!

Harold & I both THANK YOU for precious, tender, warm times spent with you.
Love from us both ~
Me & He

So glad you got to finally meet a Blog Friend! It looks like "Ya'll" had a good time. And she seems to be such a dear!

I'm seriously thinking about heading out on the open road this Spring IF my son Sean is still around to tend the Critters! How FUN would that be? And life is too short! Workin' on it and thinking about it My dear!

Love you SO much Maggie!

I'm thinking about the Giveaway thingy,,,,,I don't even have an account with Paypal anymore....I could maybe donate something???
I'm sure several friends would if you acknowledge them/their blogs......

I'll do whatever, or donate whatever, if you want to have a bloggers giveaway! "Dont Worry, Be Happy!" (Sorry, listening to you music!)

Love you to pieces always, my Dear Friend!
Shell

PS,,,,,,I know she's WEIRD! But I laughed SO hard at her last book,,it might be New Yorker Humor and she's from a Celeb group....But Amy is a Hoot, IF you understand she's totally "off the wall" and kidding! I'd LOVE the book if you wanna get rid of it, IF you get it back! Or, just put your Veggie Strainer on your head, with tin foil antennae and enjoy the fact she's under "alien influence!"

Hi Maggie, so glad you had fun. This blogging community is so special. As one who has had a life altering accident I understand where you are coming from. One foot in front of the other, it will never get better but I can tell you that attitude has so much to do with it. Happy Holidays dear Maggie.

Thanks everyone for the sweet words. Yes Marydon was a blast and it was wonderful sitting down and chatting in person with her and Harold. I meant to mention in my post not many men would travel around meeting blogging buddies like this kind soul does.
Isn't their picture great. I love the memory of that day I got to spend with a special friend.
Life is short so lets all get busy visiting our friends

What a wonderful surprise? that you knew was coming. They sound like a delightful couple.
I have had one meet and greet and it was more like a reunion than a first time event. We do learn a lot about one another thru blogging.
Quite a sacrifice playing Tommy's wife, how nice of you to offer.

I met one of my blogging buddies early on an Arkansan also. Several live within driving distance but we are somewhat hampered by winding roads and for my part, not the best driver.

But it is really fun, and I try to imagine each writer when I read their blogs.

Hi Maggie Sweetie...
I am so thrilled that you got to meet Marydon in person, and have the wonderful opportunity to share with her and Harold. I so love my Sis and she says you were just the hostess with the mostess.

You took some beautiful photos, and I love the house. You table was fit for a queen, and that is exactly how you made Marydon feel.

Someday I hope to get to pop on in for a visit as well. I have had training in Texas before, so who knows.

I have to tell you though, I was so sad that SIS came so close to my house, but yet was still so far away. One day maybe.

Thank you Maggie for sharing the beautiful photos. Many hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry

I think that is amazing, just goes to show that we are a family, and when you connect with someone, it doesn't matter where in the world you are, friendship is universal. If you ever want to come on Safari to Africa...... you can stay with me.
