It Only Takes A Minute!

How are you? I am so behind here in our world of blogging. I call it my friends world but most people call it blogging. Not myself for a week now so have not been on here like I would love to be.

Even though I have been absent does not mean I have not been thinking of you! Actually when I think of you it makes me smile.

November is already here and that means Veterans Day. As I write this I am lucky enough to be sitting where I am looking at our American Flag and it is waving ever so proud as it hangs there to remind us of our freedom and those who have died for us giving us Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.

This week I am asking you to go to this site http://www.letssaythanks.com//  where you can pick out a card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services
How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a few seconds.  A few seconds or minutes to put a smile on one of our men and women who are fighting for us today.

Also as always please add these men and women to your prayer list as they certainly do need our love and prayers.

Went to the pain management doctor today and he poked around on my neck and back. I am not healing the way I should be which is very discouraging to say the least but I can still get around enough to take care of myself and drive so I am ok. I just get upset not having the strengh to get a lot of things done as I did in the past. I am use to working two jobs and now to tire out so easily is like I have advanced in age of twenty years in six months. Hard to believe that after 6 months my back and neck hurt some times like it just happened this week. Somethings not right but who do I turn to when your dealing with Workers Comp.
Not good but I am not giving up just yet.

Also those darn Verizon bytes have got my goat again. I have really been doing good not getting close to my 5000 bytes each month and have not went over in a long time but today I am already at 4200 with 11 days yet to go. Now you know that being a blogger there is no way you can do less than 800 bytes in 11 days. lol
Whoa is me! I do know one thing this unlimited internet is not for the the free world. hahaha

So if I don't get to your site in the next week or so do not give up on me I will catch up with you!

Had the sweetest conversation with my Kaci the other day. She told me to Thank everyone for supporting her in her Juvenile Diabetes Walk. I ask her how it went and she said,"Good but very Hot!" Bless her heart walking in 80 plus weather to raise money for Diabetes. While she was talking to me all of sudden she had to get off the phone because her blood sugar had dropped to 32. Wow I of course hung up and a few minutes later she called me back to let me know she was okay. What a sweetheart! She was coloring a picture for me to hang in my bathroom. Bailey came in and was trying to mess with her but she held her cool and managed to not let him get her goat. haha I told her sometimes brothers just test us to see if they can get our goat. She agreed totally. hahaha

I wanted to say hello to Bailey but he was in and out just like a boy at his age does. lol He is his Dad inside and out and I say that with love for both of them.

Love to all
Maggie

Hi Maggie...sorry about the back and neck..I sure wish I could send you some magic dust that would heal you! I am thankful for our veterans too...what would we do without these wonderful people?! Hang in there and I sure hope you can get better! :D

That is a shame about your injury. I know the older I get, the longer it takes me to heal.....not saying that you are old, you know what I mean. It almost sounds like they are missing something somewhere. Once I was in therapy for my hip. I went through all the sessions my insurance would pay for and no help. My therapist, on her own, later called my insurance company to see if I could come back and have treatment on my back. They approved and guess what.....it was my back. I don't know if that helps, but just keep on them.
Yes, we need to thank our soldiers, and those who serve in our country to protect us. it seems they all get forgotten when it isn't on the news 24/7.
You take it easy now.
That Kaci must be such a sweet one. ((((HUGS))))

I am hoping that lots of people will be out to honor the veterans this week. It is important to remember. Sorry about the Workers Comp crap. I'm sure they would deal with people differently if they were injured.
I am still blown away by your bytes problem. I hope your area will get unlimited soon so you can blog to your hearts content.
Luv ya, kim

Maggie, I hope you get to feeling better really soon. Being in pain is very tiring. I don't know if it's an option or if it would be the right thing, but I go to an exercise massage therapist. Two weeks ago I could not even stand up straight my muscles were so tight and bones were misaligned and in 2 hours I was able to stand up straight and walk with very little pain.
Thank you for the link for the cards!

Maggie...sad to hear you are not yourself and are in pain. That's the pits! Like my 3 year old grandaughter say...BUMMER!
I got an e-mail today about the soldier just as you've written. We are so lucky to have them. My e-mail was about the ACLU etc not including prayers anymore on public property...and then asking for prayers for soldiers. Will certainly do that! Thanks for posting about it.
Good for Casi in her walk! That is such a good thing to do. You have every right to be proud of her!!
Hope you are feelin' better soon!!! {{hugs}} Donna

Hi Maggie, I thought I would pay you a visit this evening. I was so in hopes that things would be better for you, but I will keep saying prayers that you get some relief. Do you think some of the medication might cause you to tire out so quickly? The reason I asked they are making me do step therapy to get the medication that I know works. The last one I would sit down in the chair and fall asleep. I felt exhausted all of the time and it was the medication. Guess what I start a new one tomorrow which I have to try to please the insurance company. They are so irriating.
My son is a vetran served in the first gulf war and I have nefews in Iraq and Afghanstan, Plus part of our 139th has left for Afghanstan and some more will be leaving very shortly. We keep track of our boys at the Air guard. The C-130's that they fly are unique because it doesn't take much runway for them to sit down or take off. All of my brothers excepting one served in the military and I have six brothers. The only reason my one brother didn't go was because of he had a small child when he was drafted. They didn't take them back then if they had a family. He would have done so that much I do know. I am proud of your Caci and yes brothers do pick on sisters. Take care my friend. Hey Maggie, so sorry you're still not getting relief..and don't even get me started on workman's comp...my hubby (he's a Chiro) hates dealing with them. Hope you're better soon and thanks for the site to go to. Both my brothers are Vietnam Vets and I always thank them on Veteran's day. It's so important to support all the men and women who dedicate their lives for our freedoms.

That's a little scary that her blood sugar was 32. She needs to tune in sooner to the signs her body gives her. I had a really low blood sugar episode once, and ever since then I test it the minute I start to get even the slightest symptom.

Blood sugar that low can be dangerous, as I'm sure you know.

I'm sorry that you still have so much pain, and I think you should get Ms. Pearl on the case of those workers comp people and kick some you know what!

=)

I too am very proud of your Kaci for doing the diabetis walk and raising so much both in cash and awareness. (don't know if I ever said that my Great Niece Sam. has had diabetis sinse she was 5 and is also a celiac so her diet is very limited she is 17 now and hopes to go to Uni, next year to do music) I am so sorry to be reading that you are still in so much pain..Nothing drags one down than that "no end to it all" vision...I pray always that someone can come along and "do" something. Thankfully I have no limit on the time I have access to the internet so if I had the energy I coudl be on here almost 24/7,...well maybe a ..slight..exageration LOL.. Keep smiling my dear friend.
love Sybil xx

Maggie
First thank you for the info about sending a card to our troops. Many thanks to all those brave men and women keeping us at home safe.
Sad Maggie that you are still in a lot of pain from your fall. Sometimes doctors don't see the whole picture and it sounds like you need some new ones too. I think too like others mentioned maybe your meds are not right either.
Stress will not help your situation at all and we all know that stress has been your middle name right up there with Ms. Pearl.
Do wish your precious Bailey(I can just picture him coming into the room grinning at his sister) and KC were around you more often. Sometimes our kids and grandkids can give us more than any medication can do.
Your picture of Tinkerbell taking a nap on your purse is toooooo funny! Would like to see more of her on your sidebar and your grandbabies too.
Take care and I am sending you a email

Hi Maggie, was hoping to find Ms. Pearl, but always good to see you too. ;)

Sorry about your back. Have you tried magnesium. I had seen many doctors and was about to start physical therapy years ago when I started taking about 1,000mgs-1500mgs of magnesium each day. That and some amazing shoes, pain gone. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thank you for sharing the tribute to all veterans.

Blessings!
