GOT TO LOVE MY DAY!

NO PLACE LIKE HOME! YEP it was ONE OF THOSE DAYS! My work day at the county starts at 4:45 am and by 5 am this morning it was like a live episode of the Lucy Show only Ethel was not around to help me. A young woman early 40's (that's young to me) was very intoxicated and the minute her handcuffs were removed she decided she no longer wanted to wear her clothes and much to my surprise and the other Officers she started with her blouse and just kept on undressing. Honestly don't you agree with me that's a little early in any ones day to have it start like that. Geez Marie, I had not even drank a Diet Dr Pepper yet. By 6am another woman came in and saying she was irate is an understatement. She proceeded to call me every name imaginable or maybe unimaginable. The poor thing thought that we were the worst county in the state of Texas for arresting her without having a Drivers License, No Insurance, No Inspection Sticker or license plate. According to her in her home town they knew her and never even gave her tickets much less WOULD arrest her. Needless to say I put her in the same tank with the other lady. YOU want believe this but before I could finish their paper work a man is arrested for driving drunk. It only gets worse he pees in the patrol car and then all the way to the holding tank. I look up and say, WHAT DID I EVER DO TO DESERVE THIS GOOD JOB. I hate to tell you this but not too long after this Ms. Pearl appeared. You see according to my fellow Officers I have another person inside of me and sometimes out of no where she appears. These nuts that I work with call her Ms. Pearl. At first, I laughed at them but now I think they could be right. They even sometimes ask me in the mornings during the shift meeting is it Officer Maggie today or Ms. Pearl. Isn't that terrible? Ms. Pearl just tells it like it is and holds nothing back. Not Ms. Maggie at all. lol Could it be my age. Maybe I do need to hurry up and have that post about aging. I tried to coral Ms. Pearl the rest of the day but WOULD YOU BELIEVE that after that guy a man and a woman both fighting came in.......................................................hahahaha You will all be happy to know that Officer Maggie is off the next two days and so Ms. Pearl can take a much needed break. Sweet dreams everyone!!! and thanks for stopping by

After poseting this last night I find that my new sweet friend, Carole, at A Bohemian Market has left me an award on her blog. How kind is that and just when I needed to find it after this day. lol Thank you Carole I will figure out how to pick it up. lol My computer skills as you all can see are limited.

You guys are all just tooo very kind

Oh Maggie Sweetie!
I would say that you have earned a good nights rest for sure. Sounds like you have had a very trying day. I'd say you need a good dose of a hot bath, a good meal, and a good night's rest.

I have never been able to understand what people see in drinking at all. Do you think if they could see how they acted it would make a difference?

Well tomorrow is another day, another agenda, and a whole new set of people. Have a great Monday sweetie.

Country hugs, Sherry

Hi Maggie,
I'm glad you've got a couple of days off--something tells me that you won't miss the job for a day or two.

Here are some tips about your fraying locker hooking strips. You can try using more tightly woven fabrics: sheets, for example are pretty good for this, as are batiks (though they're pricey).

Some people fold their strips in half lengthwise and iron them. You can even tuck the raw edges in like bias tape and iron them down.

I tend to kind of fold the strips as I work so that the raw edges are less prominent. You can also just love the threads. My guess is that they will be a lot less noticeable as you go along.

Interestingly enough...My husband and I were JUST watching Cops on TV-They were in our area. My husband who is a wonderful Christian man said he couldn't do the job you all do. With what we were watching on TV, we have no idea how you wonderful police officers keep your cool.
All I have to say is...God Bless you real good sweetie!

Good morning Robin honey thank you for the sweet comment.
I have to admit that keeping our cool is top on the list of things to do but as I mentioned sometimes Ms Pearl comes to the service. That I do not like her and try very hard to keep her away. But it takes lots of prayers for that. lol
Actually yesterday was not one the hardest it was just crazy how every person I dealt with had problems.
Truly sad to me to watch a lot of it
Maggie
PS
so happy Robin that you have a Good Christian husband. What a blessing

Hello Sweet Maggie!
Just wanted to check in before I close for the evening. I pray you have rested today, your days are long and never ending, but at least at the end of the day you do see rewards; there is one less drunk on the roads, one less bad guy shooting at another and one more child or wife saved from domestic violence. You can tell yourself "Job well done" as you walk out those doors, and you know Maggie, that is what makes it all worth while, and wipes away the tired body after all of those long hours that you put in.

Take care my sweet friend. Have a beautiful Tuesday. Country hugs, Sherry
