Remember our Troops!

It has been too long since I have asked for prayers for our troops. Lying in bed this past week in pain I thought my pain was nothing compared to the pain in the hearts of our troops and their families because of the miles that seperate them from each other at Easter.

Let's all thank Almighty God for the women and men that are putting themselves in harms way for us and of course our freedom.  Pray for their safe return to our wonderful country and their loved ones that miss them so much.

I know that there are wifes and husbands who reach over in the night for their spouses and only to find the bed empty. Tears must feel their eyes and the hurt in their heart must be overwhelming.

In the other bedroom they can hear their little boy or girl crying softly for their daddies or mommies and it only adds to their pain. When you pray for these soldiers ask God to comfort their families and give them the strength to endure such pain and loneliness.

Since those three days that I returned to work and ended up in the emergency room I have had more bed time than I would like to admit to you. It does give you lot's of time to think about others and their lives. I also have been worried about all of you that live in or around the horrible weather that hit a lot of states a weekend ago. One lady I thought of was Patti  who has the blog Arkansas Patti.. I knew she lived alone and I worried if she was okay. Patti was kind enough to send me a email letting me know she was fine.

I talked to my son Clint last night and he mentioned that Kaci's blood sugars have been running too low at night so please add her to your prayers.  What a ordeal it is to have diabetes! I know that a lot of you have the same problems and I pray each night God finds a cure for this disease.

My brother Gary that so many of you prayed for is at MD Anderson today to have his feeding tube removed. He has been doing really good since his treatments ended. I still can't believe how much weight he lost but thanks to all of you and your prayers I truly believe he is going to be healthy again.

One thing I did think about while lying in bed was how God has given us a tool to connect with hundreds of friends that we would of never met or loved with out Blogging. It not only has helped me to solve a lot of issues in my life but it has brought me such love. I know I am repeating myself but there is a true blessing when all of us pray for each other. Lifting our friends on here up in prayer has to be the most reward any of us receive from blogging. Because of your prayers and God's healing my brother is well today. Thank you for being my friend.

Love to all
Maggie

My dearest Maggie,
I do love you...and all your family. You have all had such worries this past year and yet you bounce back...surrounded by all our prayers I am sure (of course it being Gods will and not ours of course) or all our prayers would be answered in the way we wanted...
I heard today that my great niece Samantha is having a lot of lows as well. Her Mum my niece Barbara is so worried as she goes to univercity in Sept. and she won;t be there to keep an eye on her. But as I said to her she must let her go..that is the hardest thing she will face letting go...and we will all keep her surrounded by prayer...
we have had another wonderful day here with summer temps. and forecast is for it to continue for another week or so....
LOve for tonight and always....Sybil xxx

Hi, sweet Maggie. Prayers will continue as always for all you have mentioned.

I am so sorry that you are still suffering with pain and having to spend time in bed again.

We are fine here one tornado missed us by less than 20 miles. We had some limbs in the yard and there was a lot of trash in the road but nothing major around our place.

I don't know if you read about my son or not. He is a disabled vet from Desert Storm and they found out that he has a mass on the back of brain. They are not sure if it is a cyst, tumor or something else so they are doing another MRI the 2nd of May to see if they can tell more about it and know what if anything they can do about it. We would appreciate if you include him in your prayers.

I am thrilled to hear Gary is doing so well. Now I am waiting to hear the news that you and Kaci are doing well.

I am just now feeling up to being back on the computer and I still am not spending a lot of time on it yet but will get back in the groove eventually.

Take care of your sweet self and get all better.

Love and hugs!

I have been in and out so infrequently I missed your ER visit. Since I have made a 5 of those this year, I surely can empathize.

However the ambulance ride is quite an adventure. On these Arkie winding roads, you never know until arrival if you will stay on the guerney of roll off on the floor. I have no faith in those less than adequate buckles and straps.

I'm sending prayers on the wings of a dove for you and your family and everyone else in need. It's true we need to pray for each other daily. That's what gets us through. Love Susie

Dear Maggie, I'm thinking of you often because it seems that you live so close to me. Just a click away really. I do still pray for you and all those who have asked for our prayers and I'm so glad that Gary is getting better. I live minutes from an army base and soldiers are remembered in our prayers and are very close to our hearts.

I'm sorry that you have been bed ridden Maggie. Blogging sure has been a blessing to me too. I hope that soon your back will be strong again and you can find a nice pair of cowgirl boots to ride on your little lawn tractor. A nice cowgirl hat would look good on you too.

Hugs, JB

Prayers my friend.
Alot going on. Hope Kaci will do better soon.
And you......ER oh no.
Are you still back at work. I feel bad for you.
As a military Mom, it is so hard when they are away. It doesn't seem like we remember what goes on in the East as much now. We need to for sure.
Good luck to your brother. Glad he is doing better. Hope he gets some weight back on.
Baby steps.
Life can be so hard. My Mom fell a couple weeks ago. Had a terrible leg fracture. She is in rehab close to me right now. Caring for her little dog and visiting her and working. Just glad that I am able to do this for her.
Well, I am rambling. Love you Maggie......do take care of yourself.

Hi Maggie, I am doing some catch up reading tonight. I was wondering about you and how you were doing and now I know. My prayer list is long, but I always manage to find room for one more. They have help me through so many things. Our men and women who serve have a special place in my heart having been a military mom. I have nephews overseas right now. We pray for their safety. Your Kaci is thought of each day, I know how hard it is control the blood sugars and fuss at my other half about his. I wish I could send you a miracle so that the pain would go away. I just keep praying. I sometimes wonder about doctors. Take care my friend. Your Missouri Friend.

Hi Maggie, This is such a nice tribute to our troops... We DO need to pray for them ALL of the time.. They do so much and make so many sacrifices for US.... God Bless them ALL--and their families...

Since I am so new, I was not aware of why you have been in the bed. Whatever is wrong, you are in my prayers...

Thanks for inviting me to sign up for the giveaway... HOWEVER, I am dieting (fun fun)---so can't eat it!!!! Also--I don't participate in giveaways so I'll pass on that one. Looks delicious though.
Hugs,

I really did mean to blog yesterday, but so many things happened to keep me from it that I just didn't have time. Ditto today. I hope that tomorrow will be the day. I thought that things would slow down a bit this week, but so far they haven't. I did go by to see if anyone had made a comment on my blog and I was so happy that you did Maggie. I am so very sorry that you are having such a difficult time getting over this last problem. I pray you will be better very soon. And, by the way, I do feel very sorry for families of servicemen who are away from them this Easter. I will pray for them too. I honestly wish that they could all just come home and let those people fight it out themselves. They will go right back to their ways that have been going on for centuries just as soon as we leave. And THEY ALL WANT OUR SERVICEMEN TO GO HOME.

Thank you for missing me. I honestly will be back even though I can't think why anyone would be very interested in my day to day happenings, but it is a very good way to keep a journal.

What a sweet post Maggie..I'm sure many families out there with service men and women serving our country sure do appreciate all the prayers and kind wishes. I'm so glad I've found really fun people like you in this blog world! You always make such sweet and funny comments on my blog and I really just enjoy reading all your adventures, but at the same time feel so bad that you're hurting. I hope this Easter season will find a miracle for you and your family. I hope sweet Kaci can get her diabetes issues under control and have a wonderful weekend. I'll keep all of you in my prayers.

adding my prayers to yours for our troops and all those who need them. Here in NC the tornado took 23 lives and made a mess it will take many years to recover from.. Its so odd as Lexington where 3 folks were lost is only 11 miles from me and had I not seen the devastation on the news I wouldnt have known it happened. We got heavy rain and lots of wind but nothing a couple days of clean up didnt fix...
I am so dang proud of how folks here have reached out to others in every way.. Makes me love living here even more than I already did.
(((Maggie)) we love you too sweetie and ar so blessed to have you in our lives..

Hi Maggie...I think of the troops all the time. I know a young man who just lost his legs there, it breaks my heart that his life will never be the same again.
You have a wonderful Easter weekend, what a great time to really ponder all that our Savior has done for us! :D

You certainly don't need to ask me to pray for everyone. I'm always thankful my brother is no longer in the army at these times, but his reaction, he wants to be out there with his friends and would go back tomorrow if he didn't have his children to consider.

Enjoy the Easter weekend,

Victoria xx

Dearest Maggie,
Happy Easter to you lovely lady! How the heck are you?? I am so glad to see you come around again. I think about you often. I have been a very bad blogging friend. Life has gotten so crazy that some days it is hard to get a post together, let alone have the time to visit all the wonderful friends I, too, have met while blogging. I think about each and every wonderful person out there in "blogland" that I have come across at one time or another and like you wonder how they are doing. I am so glad to reconnect with you. I hope you are well, despite all the health struggles you have encountered along the way. I would love to catch up with you soon via e-mail! Take it easy girl and keep smiling :)

Thanks for thinking about me Maggie and for letting me have your email address. You are such a dear to be lying in bed in pain and thinking of others. You are one special lady. I am so glad about Gary. It has been long haul for him.
I will pray for all on your list but you are at the top of that list for me.
'Dear God, enough is enough, this special lady needs to be able to get on with her life. Please see fit to wipe the pain from her life and fill that space with joy. Amen.'

Hello Maggie,
So glad I stopped by. My son-in-law will be leaving for Afghanistan on May 2. He and my daughter have only been married six months - we are praying for his safety in all aspects - I so appreciate the men and women who serve - sacrifice for the principles of this country -
You sure do have a lot on your plate at this time - I do find God to be very faithful - just that He loves and cares for us to extend His own Son - has me in awe - I will pray you recover soon and all your prayer needs are met.
I hope you have a blessed Easter,
Kathy

This post about out troops...I'm leaving right after this to have dinner with my niece and her daughter. Her hubby is in Iraq, special forces, third deployment...and it's hard for all of them. Hopefully this will end soon. He'll be home in June so we're counting the days...
