This and That!

How are you this beautiful day? I have so much to talk to you about this morning but I will try to keep the post short because I can tell by the look in your eyes you have more things to do today than listen to me. lol

So I don't want that to happen to you and me your being bored and me rambling like roses in your gardens.

Glad you liked the picture of me and Clint on the previous post. Thank you for all the Happy Birthday wishes to my son. The picture is one of my favorites from his wedding day but after I scanned it to display on here it has a lot of shadows on our faces. Funny I never noticed those before in the original picture.  Clint is the only one of my children that has my cold black hair. They were all born with it but Chad and Christi lost all of their hair after a while and when it came back it was a blonde.  Of course now mine is about as far from black as you can imagine but at least I don't have to color it which is great.

Birthdays and holidays is when I realize how I miss being married. Maybe that is why I have been feeling low the last few weeks because I love deeply and that makes me sad to know he misses out on all these precious memories. Don't get me wrong I would not have him back but being married is nice....reading all of your post makes me realize what I miss.

Christi had to fly to Boston yesterday for her work. She could not get over all the snow that they still have in that area. I told her to dress warm but she like most of us here in the South don't have the clothes we need for the weather up North. On the 8th of this month Christi is having a tumor removed and once again this ole woman is asking for your special prayers for my family. I know in my heart the tumor is nothing to worrying about but extra prayers are always appreciated.

If you guys did not love me I don't know how I would get through some days. Your prayers certainly lifted me and Gary while he was going through his treatments. He seems to be doing good. Actually started nibbling on a few things yesterday. What a blessing soon he will be able to swallow again.

Gretchen went to the airport last night to pick up her director friend and I am suppose to meet him sometime today. I sure hope I behave while the man is here. It is exciting to have her director friends come out here to the north forty. I just know he will pick me to be in his next movie. lol

After watching Charlie Sheen on 20/20 last night I would say that he could do worse than having me on a set. What a disappointment watching Charlie make a complete fool of himself in front of millions. Sad so sad at least I only do it to a small crowd.  Could write pages about that interview but will spare you this time.

I hate to admit it but I am one of the millions of people out there that loved watching Two and Half Men. The show was cancelled by the network because of Charlie and all his problems. I know Charlie you don't give a rats a** about people like me being disappointed in you but what about your five little children you were blessed with in the last few years. Grow up!

Sunday while celebrating Clint and Bailey's birthdays I made the mistake and stepped on Clint's bathroom scales. Good gosh how I wanted to scream but being I was not at home I just muffled the scream with my hand.

How oh how have I gotten so big in these past months. I knew after my accident that it would be a while before I could work or exercise but good golly I did not expect this to happen. Can you believe next month will be a year since my fall and I am no stronger than I was six months ago. Even the people at rehab are puzzled over my not improving. This time of the year is when I worked 12 hours a day at the Sheriff's department and would come home and work out here. On my days off I would mow and work out here 12 hours and get up the next day and do it again.  You know because you got bored reading about all my mowing. lol Now what is going to happen out here. Maybe Gretchen is right about wanting us to get some goats.

Speaking of weight gain I still have done nothing about adding that page to my site but I feel it is getting closer day by day. I need the advice and someone to do it with me. Bought some slim fast Monday but I think it only makes me hungry. hahaha  I will make the page where you can join as a contributor where you can do post on it also. So are we ready to loose the pounds.

I miss stopping in on you and visiting. Hopefully the weekend will be a time for me to catch up. Rehab takes up most of the afternoons and my writing takes up my first few hours of the morning. I enjoy that I am putting chapters together again. It has been good for me.

Well I could go on and on but will stop for now. Enjoy your week and remember this ole yellow hair grand ma loves hearing from you. Your comments are better than anything I could possibly write.

Love to all

Maggie

Oh Maggie, this was just like a phone conversation catching up with you! I will, of course, pray for Christi. I hope you enjoy visiting with Gretchen and her director friend ~ you never know there may be something in the works for you to be a part of! He's a mess that Charlie Sheen. He's talking and he can't shut-up. I think he just makes things worse for himself every time he opens his mouth. I used to be a fan of the show, but stopped watching after the last domestic abuse allegation. My hubby still watches it though.

Charlie Sheen's arrogance astounds me. He is really a train-wreck and I feel sorry for his children. Why the media keeps covering this and giving him the platform to act-out is beyond me. Never cared for him and care even less now.

I just loved this chatty, newsy post. Thanks for catching us up on all of your news, and Christi will be in my prayers.

=)

PS. My kids are really disappointed about Sheen's TV show. He let a lot of people down with his behavior, most of all (of course) his children and himself.

okay Miss Maggie,
my last post and then I am taking my dog for a walk. First off, get rid of the Slim Fast! Come on now, hand it over~ Maggie, give that to me right NOW!
Okay, now that it is no longer in your hands let me tell you there is NO such thing as a diet; Nothing, Zilch, NADA!!! There is only a change in lifestyle balancing exercise, the proper amount of nutrients with portion control and YES, you can have your cake and eat it too...just NOT everyday!
I have run through the gammit of eating disorders from anorexia to emotional eating to bulimia and the most important thing I have learned is you do NOT have to deny yourself the foods you like AND it all begins with loving and accepting yourself for exactly who you are be it a size 12 or 22. Once you learn that you will be surprised at what you do because it's good for you, not because you HAVE to.
Okay, those are the word I need you to hear today...I'll be back with more later.
You are a magnificent lady...I adored you the very first time I got onto your site; why do you think I come back? Along with all these others who follow you!
okay, okay, I really am going to stop now and go walk the dog...

Maggie, I hope that your back will soon feel better and that you'll loose the weight that crepe up on you while you were convalescing from your back injury.

Wishing you and your brother a speedy recovery. It's no fun to be in constant pain and you seem to have had more than your share of misery this winter.

Maggie, you you still can be a movie star on YouTube if this director doesn't give you a part. You have quite a bunch of followers that would watch you. Hugs, JB

I am in the same boat as you are with the weight coming on. I need to get out and start walking. I hope that will be soon.
I agree with you about Charlie. I would not watch his show now even if they bring it back.
He is such a big stuck on Charlie it makes me total sick.
I will continue to pray that you will heal soon.
Prayers also for your daughter.

when I worked in the hospital we used to give patients slim-fast to make them gain weight. That's right..gain. Not worth trying to lose with it at all.
I wish I had more time for a chat but I've got another dr. appt. today and need to get moving. check back soon, love you!

Maggie you always make me laugh. Charlie Sheen is a really sad case - he seems to be totally out of control and I think his ego is so big that he doesn't even know how pathetic he comes across. Those pounds really creep up fast don't they? I'm with you girl. Sitting all day at work doesn't help much. I really started feeling good when I was walking on the treadmill three times a week but I've been working so much overtime that I never feel like going to the gym after work anymore. Best I can tell you is to stick to fresh fruit and veggies with lean meat and some whole grains. That will help take off the pounds - it's all about portion control and not giving in to the sweet stuff (which I don't seem to be able to control lately LOL). I so enjoy your writings in your blog. Big hugs!

Hi Maggie!
First off.... thanks for stopping by my blog and your words of encouragement! I don't always make it to all the blogs to comment but am always trying to read each one!
Charlie Sheen needs a life! What a goof!
I am so happy to hear Gary is doing better! Prayers and thoughts go out to your friends who are undergoing difficult health issues. So many need our prayers. Including ourselves too!
The weight thing catches up to all of us sooner or later. I like Tracy's comment and agree Slim FAst is probably not the answer. Besides it tastes like crap! Just eat less cake and more salad. Move one foot in front of the other each day until it gets to be habit! I need to take my own advice as I guess the old scale isn't lying!!
Hugs!

So, if your friend introduces you to this director dude, and you get discovered, put in a movie, win an award, does that mean you get to be at the Oscars? Because, I'm telling you, you'd be much more entertaining than what was on there on Sunday...really. I'll say a prayer for Christi. Even with "knowing it in our hearts"..we still worry. I've never watched that show and now I guess I won't have to! He is a spoiled, self indulgent, sick person. He needs serious help. Speaking of needing serious help...that would be me. I'm with you on the weight loss journey and I agree with the "no slim fast" group. Just look at how much sugar is listed in the ingredients. I know how to lose it, I just need the encouragment to get moving! Count me in!

You are a joy, I'm always so excited to read your latest post... and I'm sure I'll be first in line to read your book!! love ya even if you are from Texas (wink, that's where my X 'ranaway' to and found himself a ...) well ok that's a story for another day! my prayers are STILL with you and Christie and your brother, can't believe you've been in such pain for a year!!! I GUESS you'd say your life has changed! so go out and meet that director and see what happens!

Hi Sweet Maggie!!
I am back from Florida now and am working fast and furiously on the things I will be selling at Moulin Rouge in California. I leave on the 15th so I am busier than a cat in a litter box but I had to stop by and say hellooooooooooo! Of course I will pray for Christi!

I am really sad too about Two and a Half Men being canceled. Berta was my favorite character on that show!

Love you Maggie!

I will add Christi to my prayers. So glad that Gary is doing okay. You dear and that back. I wonder if it is something else causing this pain. I know they have done all kinds of tests. Once when I was in therapy for my hip it ended up being my back that was the problem. I really think they need to have another doctor take a look.....I know Workmens' Comp. make those things more difficult.
Thank you for your sweet comments. The services are in a couple of days. So concerned how that will go. I have good days and bad ones. I know that it wil get better.
I battle the weight problem all the time. I don't diet anymore. I keep trying to eat healthier things. The worse part is finding clothes. Oh well......
You take it easy. Hope it goes well with the director. Can't wait to hear more about Gretchen. She sounds like such a good friend.

What a pleasure it is sweet Maggie to come here and find that you are hanging in and trying to get all better. I remember all that mowing you did after work before your accident. I am so sorry that your back has not improved more than it has and I pray that soon you will see better results.

Glad to hear Gary is beginning to nibble on food some and pray he will be eating anything he wants again very soon.

Your sweet Christi will have prayers going up for her from here.

I enjoyed reading your nice post...love hearing what you are up to and how you and your family are doing.

Hope Tinkerbell has stopped her little antics that you were hoping would disappear. Big hugs sweet friend...Love you!

Hi Maggie, Thanks for stopping by. I will definitely keep your family in my prayers. You were there for me. As for the diet, my doctor says just control the portions of the food you eat. Making it a balance diet including fruits and veggies. I have been lucky so far, I haven't gained any, but I haven't lost any either. We do a diebetic diet for the whole family with my hubby and son both being one. We have tried all kinds of diets in the past and I just told the doctors that it was a diebetic one because it works the best. You can lose weight with out the slim fast. Here I am giving you advise, but I just think you can do it by watching your portions. I know the back hurting causes problems with the exercising. I WILL SAY A BIG PRAYER TONIGHT.
As for Charlie, he is such a jerk. I heard on the radio today that they took his children away in protective custody. He will never change unless he is willing to admit that he has a big problem. Take care Your Missouri Friend.

Maggie, I agree Charlie was embarrassing to watch on tv. What a sad moron he is. All that money and fame and it means nothing to him.

Hello Maggie
Sorry I have not been commenting for a while but I have been stalking you. heeheee
First let me say that your post with you and your sons picture is just the best picture of a mother and son. Your birthday post to him brought tears to my eyes. I know you love your kids and it shows another reason we love you.
Let me add along with all the other comments you are a beautiful lady inside and out. So what if you can't get in that beautiful dress anymore ...your still a beauty...what's the saying more to love...
Charlie Sheen has really disappointed me and my hubby terribly. We love to watch the show more for his brother than him. Of course Bertha too. Someone always has to be a jerk and ruin it for all the others. Like you said he needs to Grow Up! Living with those two porn stars and bragging about it. Give me a break any porn star will live with anybody that supports them. what an idiot
Sorry I get carried away sometimes.
Have you met Gretchens director friend. Be sure and tell us about that when you do.
What about the goats any more news of getting them.
Love you keep entertaining us Maggie
You keep me going

I too watched Charlie last night and only kept watching him because not often does one get to watch some one bury their self alive everytime they open their mouth.
My guess is his brain is fried and has no freaking clue how stupid he looks to people that really work for a living.
Enjoy reading your post....you can write. I guess you have been told that before.
Also hope you don't mind me saying so but you are not hard on the eyes either.

I just love it when I come on and find your latest edition on line ! as for boring us NEVER EVER...Do hope Christi will be ok prayers will be on their way for her of course. As for your weight..I think we can almost all be in the same situation as yourself. I am much to overweight..and feel it...but can I get rid of it..not on your life. I have tried everything, even including the Dr. getting me a fantastic diatician who was so lovely. I had to write each and every little thing that passed my lips....and down the throat !!.. After about 10 weeks not an ounce had I lost. Once she realised that I never lie and indeed eat as I had wrtten down she said to leave it as I was just one perosn she coudl not help loose wweight. My own Dr. then said not to worry any more and so I try not to. When I do feel awful I try a few days without any biscuits (I usually have one with a cuppa!!)not sure if it does anything with teh weight but I feel I am trying LOL..I through out the scales and now NEVER weigh myself..Perhaps if I could walk about and exercise it would help..but then I can't so I have to be as I am...like myself or not !! and I do like myself ..what I look like to others is there problem...
Have a great day the sun is going to come out soon here so it shoudl be good,
Love Sybil xx

A big Texan howdy-do to you Maggie!! I was so pleased to see you stop by for a visit!!! [Ps...I just viewed your photo of you in blue at your son's wedding---beautiful you are!!] and...a belated happy birthday to him. He's a charmer to be sure.

Boston? Cold? Snow? No thanks. I'll take the hot humid days of the South.

Oh, and don't get me going about Charlie Sheen. He's a downright A$$ if you ask me. But that is the way those who are addicted are, and they don't know it. I'm saddened by the ones that depended on the show and he let them all down by his rants and actions. Not to mention his own family. I just wish they'd ALL cancel airing the show [tho I liked it too] and then there won't be any residuals coming his way and that may open his eyes instead of his white powdered nose. See? I could go on and on...but I'll stop here.

Do take care dear lady, and stop by again sometime soon...you're in my thoughts. As is your family.

Hey Maggie, I am glad to see you still have your great sense of humor! I too would love to lose 50 pounds and I had planned on starting a walking regime each day again, but the weather up here had not been very cooperative.
This weekend we might get to the 40's so this may be my chance to get out the sneakers and head out!
Take care and I am so glad to hear the good news about Gary!

Just finished my prayer for Cristi. Hope it all goes well. Good news about Gary, sounds like he is improving. What a blessing.
Charlie is an ass and I am amazed at the press he is getting. We just have to watch the train wreck I guess.
I watched the show also, but would find it too painful as we now know what a sick man he is. Addiction is brutal.
I use Slimfast for those meals when I am not really hungry but since it is meal time, I think I should prepare a meal. We are creatures of habit. It does work for me.
Good luck.

Soooooo good to hear from you Miss Maggie! I am so with you on the Charlie Sheen saga. He is just spiraling out of control and on a collision course to who knows what. He is a talented man and I do hope he gets his act together and gets sober for the sake of his family especially his children!

Again I am so with you on the weight creeping on! I love 31 pounds from April to November going to Weight Watchers and then from Thanksgiving to New years gained 6 back and I think I have gained a couple more. I exercised every day all spring summer and fall until winter set in and I couldn't get out and walk the 3-4 miles a day that I was doing. I am hoping that once this winter cold and snow is gone I will get back on track. I felt so much better with less weight on this old body!

Prayers for you daughter!! xoxox

Happy belated Birthday to your handsome son:-) I just love that picture of the both of you, gorgeous mama and son!!

Please know that my prayers for Christi have been added to those of the others. I've always believed in the power of prayer:-)

Such a shame your back is still giving you so many problems. As you say, it should have been feeling so much better by now since it's been over a year since your accident happened. You need a handsome guy to come give you daily massages! hehe

I'm looking forward to hearing how your meeting with Gretchen's director friend turned out. Will you be in one of his movies??? lol

Ever since I discovered the computer and blogging, my butt has gotten bigger and bigger. Sigh. Diets and me just don't go together so I try to just control my portions and don't eat at all after 6 p.m. It's the evening munchies that were my downfall!!

Don't get me started with Charlie Sheen! I just caught a part of that interview and was so sickened by it, I changed channels!! He definitely needs a wake up call. Just the thought that he has those sweet little children should make him smarten up but all he thinks about is himself. UGH! I love his show but I certainly have no respect for him.

Take care my dear Ms. Maggie and remember, sometimes NOT behaving is fun! hehe xoxo

It's hard to believe it has been a year. What a trial you've had. I hope you continue to heal and get stronger.

I received the most beautiful package today. Thank you so much. She watches over me while I do dishes. I will put her in my room, but for know I want to look at her a lot. LOVE IT!
You are so thoughtful.

Don't beat yourself up about the weight. I've been strictly dieting since the end of January, but today I am cooking and eating and I'm not going to feel bad about it.

Hugs for your week!

It was great catching up with you and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
I will keep Christi in my prayers and hope everything goes well for her.
As for Charlie, (used to like him in Spin City)
and he had such a beautiful wife when he was married to Denise Richards and gorgeous children, what would make him behave like he does? I hope he really does get the help he needs.

Have a beautiful weekend

Hi there, just catching up on all your blogs, that for thinking about me, and stopping by, I am sorry to hear you are not improving as fast as you would like but remember everything is in God's timing there is a reason that you need to be taking it easy now, time will tell. I am so sorry that we don't live closer I just know that we would have a blast together. Things are really hectic right now, between my job and court I am not sure which is taking up the most time.... but the end is in sight. Have a great weekend. Lots of love, and tons of prayer coming your way......... feel the power............
