WHAT DID YOU CALL ME?

Vintage Misc. Pictures, Images and Photos

Yep this is going to be one of those long drawn out post about my how stupid my days can be working for the Sheriff’s Dept.

After two days off from there and physically exhausted from mowing and tree removal at the north forty I return back to work in hopes of a boring day as Barney Fife. Shift meeting is over by 5am and I checking my uniform to make sure I had worn nothing extra to work this morning (see several post ago) No pink pj’s so I feel good and ready to rock and roll. Well rock and roll is just what I did for the next 12 hours.
Before 5:30 am a couple is arrested for domestic violence. We separate them as fast as possible because if given the chance they wanted to continue their dance that they had started earlier at home. I have to ask doesn’t anyone sleep anymore…geezzzzz it’s 5 in the morning.

I take the angry female with me and start the booking process. Angry is not quite the descriptive word I looking for but you get the picture. She cooperates fairly well with getting her fingerprints and pictures and I put her in a cell. Five minutes later she is hitting the emergency button telling me that she needed medical attention. I return back to her cell and she is showing me a place on her arm and screams to me that her meat is falling off her arm. Whatever the heck that means. It looked like a small scratch to me but I am no doctor. She’s begging me for to get the sheriff up there to see her arm and to take care of her.
Now we all know that I am not going to wake up the Sheriff and tell him that there is a lady that needs to see him because her meat is falling off her arm. Give me a break! Since when does the Sheriff make rounds in a jail? I guess she was raised watching the Andy Griffith show. Ok Officer Maggie does her best to calm the woman down and I bring her some anti-bacterial spray, gauze and tape to maybe quiet the idiot down.

Well I am proud of me for being the kind Officer to do this and I walk up to her little bean hole and I try to hand her this stuff and she sticks her head in the hole and screams….You want me to use that on my arm….why you stupid white bit-- Dumb---!!!!

Ok! I said, “I beg your pardon what did you call me?” and she said you heard me YOU Stupid White B---- Dumb--!!!!!
If you follow my blog you know without me even telling you who appeared in the next few seconds of this conversation with this woman. Yep Ms Pearl reared her angry head!!!

It was not a pretty site and needless to say I did not leave the bandages for her to use. For the next 11 hours that fool beat and kicked on her cell walls and doors loud and long enough that the Chief made several appearances from the front of the building wanting to know what was going on. Never would I have guessed they could hear all of that going on several floors away but they did.

She not only was banging but she was calling me every name in the book and then some she made up. It took a handful of Officers to put her in a chair to keep her from hurting herself. The whole time she continued to spray my name mixed with obscenities while this was taking place.

We finally get her where she can’t hurt herself or anyone, and I head back toward the front and the men’s holding cell. Before I get there I hear a scream from holding and some nut had just planted his fist into her husband’s eye. He is squealing like Tyson had just hit him and I call for backup to separate them.

After separating them her spouse claims he can’t see out of the eye he was hit in. So guess who gets to take him to the emergency room. Yep and for the next hour or more I had to listen to him. He had already been beaten by my new friend his wife and then his new friend in the holding cell. I was starting to think he was having a worse day than me.
We get back to the jail and she is still screaming but at least the banging had stopped. By this time the Judge get’s there to magistrate them and he and I are going over their paper work and he say’s ….”What kind of person has 10 warrants out for them?” and Ms. Pearl said “A freaking Dumba--!”

Yep Ms. Pearl came out again!  Hope you ladies have a wonderful weekend....I will be mowing the North Forty because it's still not finished. At least there will only be the humming of the tractor for me to listen to. At one time dealing with that crazy woman I thought where is Kate (our professional football player) when I need her. I also have to drive out to Round Top and Warrenton and see if they have set up the tents for the big Antiques Fair...sometimes they come in early. I love that show.

Be sure and check back in for our Blogazine story. Ms Bunny will be our next guest from I'm Just Sayin or something like that....hahahaha

Love to all

Maggie

My husband was with Houston PD for years and ran the Houston City Jail for a while...that story sounds very familiar! I love Round Top! What a coincidence that I now reside in WARRENTON , Virginia ;-)

OH gee Mags.. I just related your story to Pickles who asked... "where is she from?" "Texas" I replied.. batting my eyelids too in order to soften the ah.. blow.. he then laughed so hard and said.. "no wonder you don't watch the nightly news".

by the by.. Warrenton NC is just north of me (or as some would say here.. a hop skip and jump away!)

with love,

well, sounds like your perp was on a few illegal substances, or she's an angry drunk. Honestly I wouldn't have the energy to carry on like that. To think I once wanted to be a CO. I now just watch it on tv. Bless you and Ms. Pearl for puttin'up with those undesirablrs;)

I sure hope she was on something. You would hate to think a human being could act like that with out chemical help.
Don't know how you and others do it but am grateful you do. Those two really deserved eachother huh? Bet you see them again.
Humming tractor can be very theraputic.

I sat here reading this post out loud to Handsome, while I laughed like a fool. Nothing like dealing, daily, with society's dregs. Kudos to you. There's definitely a place in Heaven with your name on it. I can just see this nasty woman trussed up in "The Naughty Chair".

Enjoy your time at Warrenton. If you see Anne from Fiona & Twig, please give her a hug from this friend in Florida. Then, have her give one back to you from me, too!

Love ya, girl!

I could never do your job. You are so brave. The first person that yelled at me and called me an ugly name...well, I'd probably burst into tears. I'm a sissy. Have a wonderful weekend.

Does Ms. Pearl ever get turned loose with mace or tazer? Sounds like that 'lady', and I use the term loosely, was off her meds. Ten warrants? How did she stay on the loose so long?
Loved the Barney Fife crack; my dad's friends called him that after he retired. He has a tee shirt they gave him for Christmas!
I look forward to your next Blogazine.

My dad was a police officer and always said the domestic violence ones were the worse.
You enjoy you 'hum' and have a fun road trip.

You live such an exciting life! Glad it's yours and not mine! Lucky you to live so close to Round Top. I flew out from California about 10 years ago with friends and we had a blast. Mimi

Howdy Maggie
Give that Ms.Pearl a big hug and pat on the back for a job well done !!!!!!!!!
I must say you and Ms.Pearl have a lot more tolerance for temper tantrums than I do .
Of course you do know ignorance is not an excuse to misbehave and call people names.
Especially when your the idiot that is under arrest .
I guess John Wayne was right you can't fix stupid .
Hop on your tractor sweetie and sing to your hearts content about anything and everything that happened this week and than let it go honey ,just let it go and move on down the raod.
You are such an amazing woman Maggie Ms. Pearl sure is lucky to hang out with you now and then :)
It sounds like you do have a wonderful weekend planned.
Belssings to you my blogging sister ,sure wish I was there with you .
It is turning cooler here with some more nasty winter weather on the way for the first day of spring ????
Oh well it will be hot before we know it and back to our gorgeous sunny days .
Take care now .
Love with big hugs
Happy Trails

After all that noise I can see how you might enjoy listening to the humming of the lawnmower motor, even if you are working. Hope you don't have any more screaming to listen to when you have to go back to work either....enjoy your weekend sweet Maggie. If anyone ever deserved a break you do sweet lady. Hugs!

Brings back fond memories of working in Community Schools and Juvenile Hall.
I taught the kids that grew up to give you all this trouble. Maybe Ms. Beat up my husband, callin' names, "freakin' dumba$$" came from the same kind of system I wanted to change. It doesn't work if you send someone out into the world without any resources for survival except ANGER and Hurt. They were in jail even before they got there.
I have to give you credit and admiration for doing a job that not too many want to do and for the thread of humor you must need to get through each day.

G'morn, sweetie ~ What a chuckle, but oh so sad that people have to behave so poorly. Glad you are ok ...

40 acres of solitude ... I loved to mow, & wish I were still able to do so ... it was my private time with God & nature, the birds & the bees ... AND, just me.

Happy SPRING ~
Have a beautiful weekend.

It's amazing how many crazies are out there in the world! Working in a law office, I think I talk to a lot of crazies (mainly on the phone though-I try to keep them out of the office, but I'm not always successful). That woman deserved to see Ms. Pearl! I need to find my inner Ms. Pearl. Sorry to be laughing about your bad day, but you do tell a good story! Thanks for the laughs. laurie
