My Porch!

Hi Sweethearts! Just wanted to share some of the pic's of my newly painted front porch.
Would love for you to join me here for a cool glass of lemonade.
Oh the laughs we could have sitting here! What happens on Grandma Yellow Hair's Porch stays there. lol
Sorry could not resist.

I have decided to make two separate sitting areas on each end of the porch. The above photo is the far end where my porch swing hangs. I turned my pink rockers facing the swing. In between the rockers and swing I have a little table and chairs.

I need to paint the chairs and tables a different color and replace the black check oil cloth that I covered these chairs with a long time ago.

On the other end I have a couple of wicker chairs with a table in between them. Of course MaMa Kitty would not move off the table so I could get this picture. I put my rose vintage table cloth on the table but it is too big. Should I wait for Warrenton to find me another one or does this give me excuse to shop.

It's a long country porch so I thought I could get by with two sitting areas. Not sure if I will leave the rockers sitting out in the middle like this or not. Right now I like them but time will tell.

Do you like the bright colored flowered rug? Of course it is a Wal Mart special since that's about all there is around here to shop. It's an outdoor rug but have had it in my back bedroom for a while now. lol  As you can see in this pic it was still raining when I took these pictures so my porch floor does not look that great in this picture.

My landlady came today and loved the new look. I was hoping she would not mind me painting over the green porch she had picked out. I was just tired of the green and it was peeling so bad in a lot of spots.

We did not visit as long as I had hoped because she decided I needed a new tractor so off we go tractor hunting. OMGosh the prices were so high. Glad it is not me having to pay for one of these beauties. Not sure which one she will decide on.  Hopefully in the next couple of days I will have one delivered out here.

As far as the pink house she left it up to me to take care of it. Whatever I want to do is fine with her. So I guess I have to get busy and make up my mind. She is wanting the bed and breakfast but I don't think they realize how much more work that will be for me to deal with. Plus furnishing it and making it look cozy is another challenge.

Sorry these pic's are not as good as I wanted but I was anxious to show the new look to you. As you can see I played on the ipiccy site again making collages. It is a fun spot to play with your photo's.

Sending you lot's of sweet wishes for the best weekend. Be gentle on yourself and take care.

Love to all
Maggie

Your porch looks great, Maggie! It looks like a cool place to sit and sip something cold and sweet. I think the tablecloth looks fine as is, but if you are looking for a different look, you could cut it shorter and then add a little ruffle using the cut piece. Then it would cost you nothing!

Maybe you should try your shop idea first for the little pink house and see how that goes.

Maggie, the porch is just beautiful!! I love the home-i-ness of it. :-) It reminds me of my grandmother's old farm house porch. She had a wrap-around porch that she put a sitting area on one end of, and had a swing and table..for sweet tea to sit...on the other end. Ahhhh the memories. :-)

Lovely porch. I like having the two seating area; it's all very inviting.

As for the B&B....would your landlady go for your having some help with this? Does she realize what a huge project it is? I don't know about your area, but here you have to have a license to do business and other stuff.

Oh my gracious! What a delightful porch you have! Just delightful. How could the owner not love your way of decorating?

And the pics are purrrrrfect, even if you said it had been raining.

LOVE what you did with your porch. Gorgeous and so welcoming.

Rug looks fabulous. Ive been wanting to do the same thing, put a rug outside but our porch is skinny. Maybe a runner?

Maggie you have a dream-porch.
I like the pastels (the chairs) and all the other decorations.

I had to come over for a real quick visit Maggie. Your porch looks so cosy and inviting. The only thing missing is the before and after pictures.

I just wanted you to know that I'm praying daily for your son Clint and brother Gary. I hope that you like your new tractor.

Hugs. JB

Perfect seating arrangements Maggie! I love the look of it and the vintage tablecloths are great..I collect them and now I wish I had a wonderful covered porch to use them. My deck is really long but totally uncovered...dang! I love the idea of a B&B. You have the personality to do it but the stamina might prove to be overwhelming. I've often thought that I would enjoy having a B&B...after a few weekends of hosting family gatherings, I'm not so sure anymore!

Oh my, that porch is big! I really do like the way it turned out and it all looks so cozy. I wish I COULD join you for a lemonade. It would be so much fun to meet you in person.

By the way, I like your table cloth. Don't you know that is the fashion, to have it pool on the floor.

I can't imagine your landlady expecting you to run a bed and breakfast with all the other things you do around there. Please don't tell me you are going to try that. It is good though, that she is getting you a new tractor.

Hi Maggie, I wish I lived closer and I would enjoy sitting on your porch visiting with you. I would love to have a porch on my house, but wouldn't work. I am like some more if you do a bed and breakfast you would need some help. A shop you might be able to do by yourself once you got it set up. I enjoyed your previous post. Have a great day. Hugs from your Missouri Friend.

I have so much fun with my blog look, that I am very conscious of everyone's blog look. Yours is lovely.

What a great place to sit, love it! I love the rocking area, too; a place for all times of day!

I take the lemonade anytime at any affair with Splenda maybe. And I'll sit with MA MA Kitty. If my Dog has her how lift chair, your kitty can surely have her on table.

Actully Luckie, a rescue dog, unselfishly picked the only lift chair four in the house that was non-functioning. She never gets in the others. But she does claim a spot on the bed. I can't believe she is going on 14 and has been as much a joy as all our fine bred German Shepherds.

We love her dearly and hate when we have to board her, but the kennel girls at her vet love her too, so that helps our guilt a little.

I see you set the table with cherries for Sherry-sis ... she'll be right over. It looks so welcoming ... I remember driving up to that darling little porch with you standing there to greet us. Sigh!

I think you'd do better with an antique gift shop,Maggie ... you are so close to Round Top, all you need is a sign out front with the highway traffic to see ... you'd be set.

Yay! A new tractor ... you'll be sitting high & fancy ... is it PINK? I wonder about Barbara ... does she ever think first? Chuckle.

Harold is in California, went to Reagan Library yesterday & he is overwhelmed ... today visiting Tanza.

I need to get you out here with Sherry & Tanza ... we'd never get any sleep!

Miss you ~
Hugs & love, Maggie!

Good Evening Maggie Sweetie...
Oh be still my little heart, just let me climb up in one of those pink rockers, give me my cherry tea glass and sweetie we will chatting for hours and hours. Laughter and love all around. And did you say rain? OMG, I love sitting out on the porch just listening to the pitter patter of the rain falling. I am afraid you wouldn't be able to get rid of me. LOL...

Oh sweetie, I love the porch and the rug is just perfect out there. LOVE my Wal-Mart. They really do have some wonderful bargains.

It is almost 7pm here in Phoenix and we are still sitting at 106 degrees. Hot, HOT and HOT. That is all that we have had for weeks and weeks now. They keep saying that the monsoon is coming in the next couple of days. Last year all we got was dust, we shall see.

Have a beautiful week dear friend. I am working, working and working. Putting in long hours at work. Weekends included, to get a project done. Exhausted and hope to get finished this week. Many hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry

This is just beautiful! I love your porch and have always been a teensy weensy bit jealous of it. Now, I'm ALOT jealous of it.lol!

A bed and breakfast sounds like so much work, but what a beautiful setting for one.
I hope you get the tractor of your dreams.
