Happy Monday!

Hey sweeties it's sweltering deadly hot outside. Ninety-nine degrees to be exact and it is only June. So how are you staying cool today? Whatever makes you stay cool then I hope it is working and your doing well.

I am sitting under the AC with a ceiling fan spinning on high sipping on a glass of cold lemonade doing my favorite thing visiting with you.

Thank you for coming by and visiting me today as always I am tickled pink you are here. Sweet comment you left me about my sons wedding on the previous post. Stephanie has her annual wedding blog party every June and I have to admit I have run out of marriages. lol

After all the super nice comments about my blue dress I must loose enough to get back into it. My new healthy way of eating is paying off slowly but that's okay as long as I feel better and the scales keep going a direction this ole grandma is not use to. Only four pounds the first week. If I had stuck strictly to the diet perhaps I would of lost a lot more but I am working on it.

I am still having trouble giving up caffeine but I no longer walk around with a Diet Dr. Pepper in my hand. A small thing I do that has helped me is I bought a bag of Sonic ice.  Sonic Drive-Ins here are on every street corner in Texas. Sounds silly I know but their ice comes in little cubes and making smoothies now every morning for breakfast these cubes are easy on my small blender. Also it makes it easier for me to drink all the water I need every day.

This was the prefect season to start this vegan diet with all the fresh fruits available right now. My smoothie today was a small banana, kiwi, pineapple, almond milk and ice. Wow it was really good.

Yesterday my friend Sharon ask me go to the movies to see the new Snow White movie. We laughed on the way out of the theater saying we needed to go home and reread Snow White. It was not at all what I expected but we both liked it. Plus it got me out of the house for a few hours.

I was going to share one of my ole prison stories today but since I have already wrote a chapter I will save it for tomorrow. Plus I received the most adorable letter from my grand daughter Kaci this afternoon and I want to write her back before I mow this evening

Enjoy your evening.
Love to all
Maggie

I'd like to see that movie too, but nothing can be better than the Disney Snow White. Hot here too today but nowhere near as steamy as your temps. Stay under the fan and be cool!

Hi Sweetie,

Loved the photos in your wedding post. We have sun, but not super heat and I am so enjoying these June days. Surgery in two days and I am eating healthy, too. I try to do a smoothy with fruit every day and especially enjoy it this time of year.
Lots of hugs!

So good to see you on here. I am a bit bored as I'm under the weather and don't fell like doing anything but checking blogs. I went to the doctor and on antibiotics and hoping they work fast as I have scopes scheduled for Thursday.
I doubt I go see that movie. Looks a little scary to me.
Our temps are up and down the last couple of weeks I don't do the hot well at all.
Take care my friend.

And we all look like your illustration, right??????? -giggles-

Which new 'Snow White' did you see, please? One came out a short while ago, and was mostly funny.

'Snow White and The Huntsman' came out very recently, and is not, not, not a funny film. ,-) But it's the ONE I WANT to SEE! It's been sounding like a good vehicle, for Kristen Stewart.

But I got this &%&$^&*(^%##@ UTI, and have not felt like sitting in a theater. -Bahhh-humbug-

Hi Maggie!

That lady in the picture reminds me of Demi Moore. I actually stood two feet in front of her and looked her straight in the eyes. She had on no makeup and was not as tall as I thought.

We were in a toy store in Idaho where she and Bruce had a home. It was right after she had her second child. Summer of 1991 and were were vacationing in Sun Valley.

Remember that 'nekked' Vanity Fair picture she shared the world? Well if I had had my wits about me I might have taken a picture and made a lot of money!

She almost bumped into me... she was nursing her baby (Scout) as she walked around the store!!!

We locked eyes and I was dumbfounded and speechless. Mostly because she was nursing while shopping.

Then she spoke (shouted) to someone across the store about getting a doll house for for Rumer's birthday.

Once I heard her voice and she mentioned her daughter's name I knew for SURE it was Demi.

Now about you...
it's wonderful that you have been loosing weight. I wish I could loose four lbs. in one week!

I know how the humidity of Texas can make you miserable. I lived in the DFW area for six years while going through menopause. The 114 highs here in the SoCal desert are hot... but it is a dry heat, lol.

A certain age and that weight thing just bushwhacks us. Slow and steady is the way to go (so they say, I am just meeting the s-l-o-w part). Hot here, too--82--but it won't last very long.

Four pounds the first week is wonderful! Way to go! It was warm here over the weekend but not like you have...and it's suppose to be in the 70's by Wed...be careful mowing in that heat and stay hydrated. I want to see the Snow White movie too..are there dwarfs??? I think not! Snow White is my fav story book character because she has black hair. When I was little every princess or good girls in stories were blondes...the witch or evil ones were brunettes..except Snow White. As a black haired little kiddo I was thrilled to have a brunette idol! I even wanted a job when Disney World first opened being Snow White...crazy but true! Have a great week Maggie!

Hi Maggie, I know when you really want to lose the weight it seems to go slow. I wouldn't be able to give up my coffee. It is my downfall. I haven't been to a movie in I don't know how long. We have been having hot weather, but we did get some rain early this morning, but could have use some more we are so dry. I love your wedding pictures. Have a great day. Hugs Your Missouri Friend

I just joined WW and I'll be THRILLED if I can drop 4 lbs this week. No, BEYOND thrilled. Give up Sonic? No way. I love me some "ice cold cherry coke", diet of course. Congrat's on the weight loss!

It's warm here today, too. Even with the AC on.

I need to start a diet and just can't seem to get myself going. I think I will do better once Dave is home, after his retirement. Having him around to plan healthy meals with will help me as he has better will power than I do!

Yikes, 99 is HOT. We have had one of those days, but lately it has been rather pleasant, even rained. It had been so dry even the weeds wouldn't grow.
Love smoothies too. Just discovered them and wonder where they have been all my life. They are delicious and filling. A meal in a glass.
Keep up the good work Maggie. I've lost 13 but that has been over a month. Very slow but steady for me. All ready feel better.

I am late for the Wedding but photos were beautiful.

It is in high 80s in northern AR but I am very careful to not get too warm or too cold, either of which my ole heart doesn't seem to like along with a number of other items.

Congrats on losing weight.

I have been on a diet, with occasional lapses, for 4 years, even before I knew of my heart problem. I lose slower than a snail, which taxes my small supply of patience.

But I finally am at peace with the fact and with a few exceptions, stick with Weight Watchers on line, especially with their new program where all fruits and vegetables, except starchy ones are free. I hit the fruit and a few veggies all day long and have all my points for our traditional evening meal, which is only meal I fix for two. I don't have to worry about how many points as I have nearly all of mine still waiting to be used.

I not a veggie lover but I get a few in evening meal. Whatever I have eeked out 45 lbs in 4.5 years and probably should lose that much more.

But if you stick to it, you will feel so much better, despite whatever ailments you have.

My heart is better, it will never be the same. My arthritis is better; it will never go away.

At my age I have to be content with itsy bitsy improvements, not giant makeovers.

However, shortstuff me, at 4'10" inches am finally getting a few compliments. Fat short people seem forever FAT, no matter what they lose.

And clothing size changes are so slow. I only gone down 2 sizes more or less. BUT at least I have been able to buy a few new things, but the too large items are still wearable, which is depressing. I want them to FALL OFF.

Sure wish I wasn't so attached to my Cokes--I can't even tolerate the diet ones, so I know they are full of sugar and no good for me, but they "enhance" some meals. Too many meals, I'm afraid to say!

Tell me you didn't mow your lawn in that heat! Right now I'm in Montana on a "business" trip with my hubby. It has been nice and a little on the cool side. Have a wonderful day!

You have a beautiful family, and I can tell they have sweet and kind hearts, too. Enjoy the rest of your week and stay cool!! Thank you for coming by Bunny Cottage for a visit~ Vicki

Hi Lady! Had wifi so taking advantage to pop over and see what you're up to. Boy you are going healthy. If you want to lose weight fast buy an RV and drive it all over the place, for some reason this has allowed me to drop 10 pounds I had been trying to drop for 5 years. Go figure. Stay cool :)

How is vegan working for you? I don't know if I could give it all up. I have to have my morning coffee. I have been trying to eat better. I've been having more salads and less fried foods. I don't have a scales so I don't know if I've last any yet but a friend today asked me if I had lost weight, so maybe I have. :)
