My Week!

How are you? Hope your having the best of weekends. After having been busy the last three weekends it seems strange today to be alone with just my buddy Tinkerbell for a lazy day.

What was your week like? Did it fly by like mine did? I spent my week in a computer class for three afternoons and the rest of the time of course mowing.
My buddy Tinkerbell spent her week lying on my hat that I lazily left in the guest bedroom on the bed.
For some unknown reason I could not pry her away from this spot all week. Finally I managed to put the hat where it belonged and she had to find a new place to be lazy.

Not sure if you can see the tractor hidden in the bushes. I was mowing Thursday with Holly which is name Kaci and Bailey gave the big Blue Holland that I am never comfortable with mowing on. While I was way in the back field  I rounded a huge tree and before I knew I saw several enormous tree limbs hidden in the high weeds. Immediately I slammed on the brakes not thinking I needed to push in the clutch. I was pulling a dual shredder so it would not stop on a dime and I was either going to hit this branch and possibly turn me over or I was going straight into the creek that was thirty feet below.

Only thing I could think of at the time was to turn the key off since the brake wasn't stopping it.  Thank goodness it stopped then but as luck would have it that was the end of my mowing for the day. For the life of me I could not get the thing to start again.

As you can see from this picture I sure needed to keep mowing.

Thank goodness I had these three fields mowed before the incident.

As you can see I have a boring week to write about. lol
I did manage to take some Excel Computer Classes but was highly disappointed.  A friend of mine and I realized we knew nothing about Power Point or Excel so we signed up for these classes.
We found our teacher was very lazy and not much more knowledgeable than the two of us about Excel. lol
Don't ask me why I stuck it out for three afternoons?

After I received my certificate I celebrated and bought me a small pit so I could maybe eat healthier than I have been of late. I set it in the small fenced in back yard that needs a lot of work on the yard.

I have been trying to figure out how to make a small patio out here so I could enjoy this small space. As you can see the grass does not grow back here. Too much shade so it would be prefect for a patio.
Near the pit I jumped a mile when I saw this lying on the ground.
Thank goodness it is not real. I had to laugh after I landed back on my feet because this is the plastic snake that Gretchen and I scared each other with so many times last summer before she moved out of the pink house. Boy do I miss her. She is back in Texas so maybe we can visit each other now and then.

One last boring pic before I end this long post. I captured Tinkerbell watching me out of the back door.
As you can see my back door needs a lot of work on it. The whole little farm house needs lots of work.
Isn't it something how you can take a picture like this and see so many different reflections in it. I see my black and white bathroom floor, the pink wall in the hall, the yellow side of the house and my legs and feet. lol Can you see all of this.

So now you know how I have spent my week. I must now go and visit you and see what you have been up to all week.

I am going to try really hard to join Donna this Monday for Memory Lane Mondays. I just can't decide what memory I want to share with you that would be of interest.

Sending you good thoughts for a beautiful weekend.

Love to all
Maggie

I've been working in the office this afternoon, adding up HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) and I have much more to do but I have to return to the barn. I'm taking a brake because all I see right now are numbers, haha.

OH MY GOSH.... When I saw what you almost did with that tractor, it gave me shivers down my spine.

That's one of the reason I will not learn to drive our big tractors. The PTO on them is another dangerous thing to watch for. I'm so glad that you had the sense to turn off the key.

Maybe a piece of the branch got the blades stuck. Do you have someone to help you get the tractor started. Oh you poor girl.

I've had some interesting things happening this week too and maybe I'll blog about it this evening if I can find the time.

Much love, hugs.
Julia

Hey Sweet Maggie
Glad your having a lazy day with your buddy.
I can't even begin to imagine you mowing all that property. Please be careful when you are on Holly. I think remember that Kaci and bailey named all your tractors. My grandbabies name all of our things too.
Hope you enjoy using your new pit. It is too windy here today for cooking outside so we are disappointed I wanted grilled hamburgers.
Cute pic of Tinkerbell out the back door. Our house will have to be painted soon too.
Take care
Tam

You have so much to mow, I don't know how you get it all done. I have only 2 acres and that's enough for me. I worry when I get near the creek because I got bogged down in the mud last summer. I've been mowing it by hand down there ever since. Hope you next week is more fun, but not crazy!

wow.glad you got that machine stopped before you got hurt. I've had an entire lazy week. Changed meds on tuesday and FINALLY I am feeling better. I wont do much and make sure this flu is gone and done with so maybe by tuesday I can get back to normal around here. I mowed but the boys are coming to put in a few more plants and do the weed eating.

I just have to find the energy to at least do some sewing this week or I'm never gonna get my bedroom done.

always good to see a post from you.

love and hugs and all good things..

Our weeks do fly by.
Perhaps we accomplish something but don't see anything that sticks out.

Your three afternoons in class were a change of pace, and don't you think that does the mind a world of good regardless of what you didn't learn?

hugs for the weekend.

Your home and its ground are so wonderful. Yes, you need to be careful.....ll that mowing.
Congratulations on taking the class and staying with it even if it was boring.
Quiet week-ends are nice. I am down this week-end and not feeling well but this too will pass.
Take care my friend.

Wow I'm glad you thought to turn the key off. I didn't think of that several years ago when my husband had a heart attack at the wheel and I couldn't get to the brake.

I'm so glad that you knew to turn the key off. I think to if your tractor is newer likes ours that if you get off the seat it will stop if I'm remembering right. So glad that you weren't hurt! Hope you got it running again.

Hi Maggie, I am glad I don't have as big of a tractor as yours. Mine has the shut off in the seat and if I wiggle it will shut off when I don't want it to. I am taking an easy out this year and having my yard mowed. I just don't have time to do it with everything else. I love Tinkerbell looking out the window at you. He reminds me of one of the cats we had.
My week is over for which I am glad. I had a busy day, but it was enjoyable. Take care. Hugs from Your Missouri Friend.

Your yard looks absolutely wonderful and green and warm.
I love the pictures of the cat. What a silly little beast.
Looks like she was missing mama in that last one.

You sure did a ton this week! I can't believe you keep all that mowed! I used to love mowing but I haven't done it for so long! Kelly enjoys it & I would prob run over a kid so I let him... :) Yours looks pretty adventerous though!!!

I am glad you got a chance to rest up a bit today! You deserve it!

Isn't it just delicious to cuddle up to your sweet Tinkerbell and just relax? But, overall, your week -- with classes and mowing -- sounded very busy. I'm glad you got some relaxing time. You're never, ever boring, Maggie! And your pictures are wonderful!

I cannot understand how time drags so slowly as it flies by! We've had floods this week but today has started out with sunshine. Chores await and then church; it's going to be a restful day...hopefully. So glad you were able to get the tractor stopped; it always takes me so long to do tractor chores because I go so slow.

I've been trying to avoid rain showers all week long here in London. We are growing very weary of rain, rain, and more rain. Miss that Texas weather for sure right now!

Wow, and I complain about an acre. Actually I enjoy mowing, not sure as much as you do on such a biggie as Holly would be fun though.
So glad you weren't hurt. Please be careful.
Just enjoy the quiet, you know it won't last.

I'm so glad you were able to stop that big mower with your quick thinking. All you DON"T need is another fall to get your back acting up again.

Can't believe how much grass you have to mow!!!

=)

Wow, you did such a great job mowing - you deserve a lazy day with your buddy! Enjoy sunday!

Yikes! Glad to hear the mower stopped before you toppled over or down. I had a busy week so this past weekend all I did was veg. Sometimes nice to do just that. My girlfriend at school is a wiz on Excel. I never had used it til I came to Kuwait so everything I know now is because of trial and error and if I have an error, then I go straight to Leslie for help. :) Tinkerbell sure is cute! Wishing you a great new week. Tammy

I registered for a grant writing class once and walked away knowing less than I did before. The teacher was very lazy so I feel ya on the Excel class!

You do NOT want to hear about our week ... devastating! But I'll live. Kids ...

Love the pics of your kit-kat & a wee peek in the house that I adore.

Congrats on bearing up thru the class ... you are braver than I for even going.

Have a beautiful week my friend ~

Well you were busy. I can do Excel with a little tutoring as I learned a different brand of spreadsheet program, but a lot is the same as long as you learn the correct way to create a formula. They vary a little bit from program to program. I would love to learn PowerPoint.

We are wrapping up remodelling and the freezer goes bonkers. Now we are moving frozen food from house to house--one house next to us and now in process of moving it back.

I once took a computer course cause I wanted to learn more about DOS! Can't remember learning a thing! Of course I haven't had to know DOS since the first computer Don and I ever had.

Wow so happy you're OK from your mowing incident! Has the tractor started yet?

I'd of probably shot that "snake" with a shotgun (of course I don't have a shotgun anymore)! ;-)

Had to shoot me a rattler when my "girls" two mixed breed K9s I had in AZ kept pestering one that was trying to get under our singlewide!

The snakes were nice to have around as long as the girls would leave them alone...they ate the furry little critters that lived under the house!

Sounds like ya had a great week 'cept the whole tractor thang...there's always somethin' when it come to stinkin' machinery!!! Heeehehehe!!!

Have fun with your new BBQ girl. I adore grill outside!

Fab picture of Tinkerbell Girl!

Have yourself a blissfully blessed week sweetie!!! :O)

I enjoyed seeing more pictures of the south 40! I can't imagine how you take care of so much lawn. That tractor is really scary. You don't need any more problems.

Having said this, I just have to tell you that I do envy you living in such a pretty green place. I would love to have a little bit bigger lot, but sure wouldn't want to have to take care of it. Our desert is green too, but it surely does take a lot of water to keep it that way and I sometimes worry for fear that one day we will run out.

Take care, Maggie, and when you get time, answer my email. Love ya
