Fun With Friends In Warrenton!

Play is Good! What better way to spend the day than with friends shopping at Warrenton.
In other post I have introduced you to the Oliver's. Three sisters Linda, Bonnie and Ruby.
Oscar their handsome brother is in the back.

We have known each other since first grade or before. I really think of them as my family and one did marry  my oldest brother.  Linda in the blue top told us in Jr. High that she was going to marry Billy Joe and they have been married since their first year of college. God really Blessed the Keeton"s when he gave us the Oliver family. We were neighbors in both in Pasadena and La Porte  for twenty years until my dad transferred up here to Brenham. Then we saw them every weekend. lol

Here Linda is trying to get phone service to send Ruby's honey a pic of a huge bird house she found.

I love these burlap table skirts. Especially the red one.

Here is a Indian Teepee that was decorated with lace. There was actually two of these at different locations.

So much junk and not enough time to see everything.

These freaked my friends out. They hated them. I thought they were funny.

Oscar and Bonnie telling me to quit taking pictures of them.

Look at this pretty plant stand. I wanted it but it was three hundred dollars!
Does this outfit make me look fatter? They kept telling me NO but I know better. Of course I was teased about being dressed up and in a hat. I told them the Actor Matthew McConaughey was out there yesterday and I was not taking any chances of him being there today. haha

One of the reasons I love Warrenton is so I can wear one of my hats and who knows who you might meet.
My brother Gary told me last night he met the singer lady Merrissa Lambert. Not sure how to spell her name. She came into the place where he was working.

Ruby was cold most of the morning.  She kept telling me every picture you have taken of me I was cold.
Ruby is a new grandmother of a darling little girl born April 2nd. She is flying to Illinois to see her Sunday.

I forgot to tell you Ruby to have a good time and give that cutie pie a kiss from Aunt Margaret.

This huge awesome home is probably the oldest house in Warrenton.

Look at this Chandelier that is on the second floor of the home. Can you see the painted ceiling around the light. I am thinking the house was built in late 1800's. I have the most interesting story about this home I will tell you sometime.

Oscar kept telling me to keep up with him because he wanted to laugh but he walks so fast it was hard to keep up. Honestly we did have some pretty darn funny laughs. We always do when we get together. The kind sometimes that make you think you might actually should have bought those depends from Wal Mart instead of walking by them.  You know what I mean to embarrassed to put them in your buggy.

About four hours into the morning we were all exhausted and looked for some place to sit down and grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately the only good thing about lunch was our hilarious stories we shared with each other.

We don't get together very often but when we do we make up for our times apart.

Of course the day could not go by with out me being clumsy. You know how there is nothing available at these places to go to the rest room except those horrible stinky Porto potties. So I go inside one leaving the four of them out side not far away and when I tried to stand up I fell backwards and hit the back of the darn thing. Thank God I did not fall in the hole. Well the whole thing shook and I just knew the four of them were going to come running to my rescue. Would you believe I finally get my pants back up and go outside and their visiting and never heard the commotion or saw the thing shake. I could not believe it.

Who but me could fall inside of one of those nasty things. One year I dropped my car keys in one. Don't even ask how I did that. The fall slowed me down even though I did not hurt myself. Just too old to be let out in public I suppose.

Toward the end of the day we actually met a vendor who was very rude. I don't think in all my years of shopping at Warrenton I ever met a rude vendor. We walked up to his tent and I touched a table he had sitting outside. He screamed at me for touching it. Supposedly it was wet and he had just announced that it was wet. Of course I walked up maybe 30 seconds after he said it and I missed the announcement. He was like what part of Wet do you not understand.

Well I was shocked and looked at him like surely he was not talking to me. We all said something to him but nothing really ugly. He was rude to everyone that came in his tent.

After walking out of the tent Oscar said he could not believe that Ms Pearl did not come out. The more I thought of how he acted with us the madder I got. I begged them to go back and let Ms Pearl do her thing but they thought we should keep walking in the other direction.

By three in the afternoon we were dragging. It was funny when we all set down in the car you should of heard the moaning and groaning from the five of us. Too funny.

On the road home we stopped at a country model home that has been built out on the road to Warrenton. I have wanted to go inside these two country homes but never have but they all wanted to and I was thrilled.

They were so beautiful. Big front and back porches. Lots of gorgeous rooms to check out. We all sat down and decided we would just have to put our money together and live like the Golden Girls. Of course I was all for that being single.

All in all it was a special day with us adding pages of  memories to our life time together.

Hope all of you are adding special memories to your pages of life. Happy Easter to you and your families.

Oh I was approached by email from a very special company asking me to do a giveaway for them. I was thrilled and you will be too. We have to work out the details and if it all works out I will be having a super great giveaway soon.

Love to all

Maggie

Oh my, aren't days with friends wonderful? I love your outfit. It's true, one must always be prepared to meet important people (or rude vendors). I won't ask how you dropped your key into a Porta Potty. I do wonder how you got them out?????

Nice visiting with you.

Best,
Bonnie

It sounds like you had a fun time walking around with your friends, Maggie! Some great stuff there. I don't normally where a hat {unless it's really, really cold outside} but I have a nice big floppy one ready for when I go to my first outdoor flea or antique mart. I'd prefer not to get fried! So, good for you for wearing your hat. : ) I knew LuLu would love those dolls! Thought of her as soon as I saw them! LOL!

That looks like so much fun...and that you have life-long friends to share it with is a special blessing.

Maggie you made my day with this post. So nice hearing about you and it's so nice that you got away for the day with good friends. Oh my gosh, those dolls reminds me of a movie I saw years ago with the possessed evil doll. I can't remember the title. Spooky....

You look very classy with your hat. Too classy for that rude vendor. I hope that you gave him the evil eye... I would have. People like that I would like to stick pins in their doll, under their fingernails.... Bahahaha...The porta-potty experience is hilarious. Dropping your car keys in the porta-potty was really one thing but retrieving them must have been something else. hahaha.
My friend dropped her cell phone in the toilet, not once but twice. They just both fizzled.

Happy Easter. Hugs. JB

Sounds like a good time was had by all.
I can imagine you all are too, too funny and being together must have been a hoot.
It seems so nice that you're friends for such a long time.
Stay out of those small spaces. Easier said than done, right.
love 'n hugs

What fun! Well, except for the porta pottie incident. Ewwww, don't you just hate those things? I'm so glad you wore your hat! You are absolutely right...you never know who might be there ~ even George Strait. ;-) I'd never leave if I saw him!

LOVE the red burlap too! I've never seen it in red so that's a new thing for me. Glad you were able to go and enjoy the day with wonderful friends!

Sounds like a great day and tons of fun! Nothing better than old friends who know you better than family. My camera is always with me too and I'm always snapping pics. Today though it let me down. I was at graveside services for Donna's in-laws and she knew I always have a camera and asked me to take a pic at the cemetary...and the stupid thing wouldn't work..the stupid owner needed to put new batteries in it! Have a great Easter weekend Maggie. I'm sorry my e-mail from last week never got to you. I wonder where in cyberspace it's floating?
