Easter On The North Forty!

Look at my two darlings! Here they are unpatiently waiting for the eggs to be hidden outside.
As you can see Kaci was feeling silly and would not let me capture her otherwise.

The first of many hunts on Saturday. Kaci running for the gate to try and beat her brother Bailey to the fields.

Hmmm they did a good job of hiding those eggs from me.

Bailey looking around the picket fence of my little farm house.

Now he ventured farther away to the side field looking for those colored eggs.

Kaci followed by her mom Andrea and dad Clint.

The next group of egg hunters are my son Clint, Kaci, my daughter Christi and Bailey.
It was girls against boys on this hunt.

Bailey looking on the front porch. Yes don't adjust your computer  my porch columns are pink as is the porch swing.

Your never two old to hunt Easter eggs. Christi is that a little skip in your step?

Whew this is hard work......

Clint always the serious competor is running with his basket. Once again your never too old to hunt eggs.

Kaci my darling I just loved her fashion statement. How cute are these jeans. They have butterflies on them. She told me this was her first pair of jeans. I then realized that was right. Not like others she held out until she was ten to wear jeans. lol

The view stepping down from my front porch. I need flower beds but my ole back keeps me from digging some so I use pots.

My oldest Son Chad coming up the front walk.

Now Chad borrowed one of his nieces or nephews basket and joined in the third hunt.
Wish I could figure out how to send this pic to Chad's friends.

My sweet Daughter-In-Law Andrea also joined in on a hunt.

Chad also is a serious hunter.

But not as serioous as Bailey. Look at Bailey running to catch up.

Bailey trying to figure out if there is anymore eggs to be found.

My red geraniums have found a new spot on top of the bird bath.

Here I have plants sitting around my angel planter.

Hope you enjoyed our egg hunt!

Yesterday my family came to see me from Austin and after a lunch of fried chicken we hunted eggs. Not once or twice but many many times. I can barely walk today and all I did was hide the eggs. But a 100 eggs is a lot to hide. lol Of course I had help thank goodness. When the others were not looking I threw the eggs and where they landed is where they were found. hahaha

I knew Bailey and Kaci loved chicken tenders so I decided to fry a bunch of white breast and chicken strips. Well take it from me you can't do other things while frying chicken. The first big batch of chicken strips I was busy making up Easter Baskets. Well while we were eating I noticed Bailey was having a little trouble with eating a strip. I said, "What's wrong baby?" Being a boy that always tells the truth says,"This chicken is a little tough!" haha....Yep I fried the first batch too long.  If you dipped it in the white gravy it helped to make it eatable.

I have to tell Bailey when I talk to him today that if he thought those strips were tough yesterday he should of been here today for the left overs. lol

Today I am grateful for having my family with me yesterday. All because of the reason we are celebrating Easter today was I able to have such a beautiful day.

HE IS RISEN!

May all of you have a Happy Easter!

Love to All
Maggie

We just finished having a few egg hunts of our own, but in a much smaller way than you guys! What fun to have a big expanse of land for all the fun and games.

Hope your Easter was lovely!

Kids have the best time, don't they, Maggie, regardless of their age.
Seems a good time was had by all - - in spite of that first batch.

Your yard is looking spiffy, so much color. Suppose I'd better get out and do some flower shopping????

love 'n hugs,
Gerry

Happy Easter Maggie, what a smart girl you are to upload Easter pictures of your Easter hunt with your beautiful family, on your blog. Your weather looks perfect. I love seeing everyone hunting for Easter eggs.

I didn't hide eggs this year I think for the first time. The grandkids now have a big house with many hiding places and the Egg hunt is indoor because often there's still snow on the ground at Easter.

I just got home from having dinner with my daughter and her family just now. I had a great time but forgot to take my camera.

We actually got a small winter snow storm today and my daffodils are blooming in one garden close to the house.

Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog.

Hugs, JB

Hi Maggie!!!! Oh this post makes me want to fly my whole family down & politley ask the renters of the other house if they would mind moving out so we could move in! I can't even imagine the fun growing up there!!! The grounds are so beautiful & you know you could push the mowing off to Kelly so that you & I could go shopping! Your family is just so sweet & I ythink even though Annie is younger than Kaci that they would have a good time together! Glad you had such a wonderful day! The eg hunt sounded fabulous!!!

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, let me get this straight----------you hid 100 eggs?!!! Oh my goodness. I can see why you were sore. That's a lotta eggs. Were they all found and you had 100 at the end of the day?

It all looks like such a fun time ---even the adults, it brought out the 'child' in 'em...which I so enjoyed.

That was and egghunt for the Guiness Record book.

Easter is a lovely holiday which we as a childless couple celebrated with a special church service and invite to dinner with close church friends.

I am thankful in my old age to have found the perfect church combo for us, even though I never changed denominations, every church family is different--probably shouldn't be--but we are imperfect humans. I guess Faith led me through a smorgsebord to the cuisine suitable to us.

Hi Maggie
I think I found you through Marydon. I have to say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE our pinkness of your house. Are there any other pics of it? I didn't see any on your side bar. I'm pink all over in our cottage, but our outside is bright red and white and yellow.
I'm in Canada
Great Easter hunt. LOVE your picket fence too. I've always wanted one of those : )
