Happy Mother's Day!

Photobucket

Could not let this special day go by without wishing you a very special Mother's Day.

It seems I did let this day go by before getting back to this post. Wow can't believe it is already Sunday night. Now that I am back to work days off will fly by for sure.

One thing that has kept me from blogging beside my work and pain is my daughter Christi moved back home for a while. Remember a few post back about the horrible attack on her in front of her apartment well she has not felt safe since then and is staying with me for a while. It has been 13 years I guess since my baby has lived with me so I know it will be a lot of adjustments but being the sweetheart she is I know that it will work out until she decides to go back to Austin. Thank goodness she want be going back to that apartment complex. I hope she stays long enough to heal and save money.

Tinkerbell is use to being the Queen of the North Forty so having a dog in her world again is not her cup of tea but I am hoping she comes around and stops being rude to sweet Toby. She hides behide the door ways waiting for him to come thru and then she jumps out and hisses at him. He totally ignores her which probably makes her even madder. lol

My oldest son Chad came by this evening on his way from Houston to Austin and took Christi and I out for dinner. It was nice having dinner with two out of three of my children for Mothers Day. Just a few minutes ago my other son Clint called to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. I thought of my mom and grandmothers all day today missing them of course. Wishing I could hug them one more time and ask them questions that have been coming to me about family that never entered my mind to ask them when they were living. Now I have no one to answer these questions. So if you are lucky enough to still have your Mom today sit down and get her to tell you about her family. Believe me you will not regret it later in life.

I also thought of you my friend wondering if you were with your families and enjoying your day. Please let me know how your day went and if your children are doing good. Also I want to know how you are because here lately I am slow getting to all the sites I need to get too. Catch me up I love it and so will others that read my comments.

Real quick let me tell you how goofy I am now. Is it age or tooooo many pain pills. I went to Wal-Mart on the way home from work Friday. Since my fall I try to park close to the same area every time I go in that store because believe me when I say I have been lost in that parking lot trying to find my car.

Well I picked up just a couple of things and went back to get into my car. I came around to the passenger side to put my things in and when I opened the door a older lady was sitting in the seat. She screamed and I jumped back and almost screamed myself but managed to collect myself since I knew I had scared the poor woman to death. Anyway I was just fixing to ask her what the heck was she doing sitting in my car when I noticed the interior seats were a dark brownish color where my interior is a real light beige.

She stopped screaming when she noticed I  was wearing a Sheriffs uniform but then she just looked at me with such curiosty. I finally realized I was not at my car and felt like a fool. Immediately I told her of my mistake and told her several times how sorry I was for scaring her and that her car was just like mine.

My car was two cars over and I quickly made a dash for it. Her car was the same color and make of mine so I tried to convince myself it could happen to anyone. hahahaha

Poor lady I am just grateful she did not have a heart attach. I could just see me trying to do CPR on someone that I scared to death. I wanted to lecture her about sitting in the parking lot without locking her doors but I figured she probably learned a lesson too that day.

Looks like I can not leave the house alone anymore. Maybe it is a good thing Christi is back home. lol

Also today I was watering my plants in the front yard and my phone rang. I dropped the water hose to answer the phone and when I did a brown snake slid by towards the outside of the picket fence. This is the first snake I have seen inside my yard since I have lived here almost five years. As much mowing as I use to do on the North forty I never saw snakes and was thankful. But in the last month now I have made up for the last five years. They are really out around the pond but this is the first one I have seen near my home.

With us in a horrible drought I guess this is going to be a bad year for snakes because their looking for water. I want be watering the yard anymore in sandals. Thank goodness I have several pairs of boots I can wear. I think too is my blue healer was killed back in February and she kept snkes at bay. Time to look for another dog or guineas.

Have a wonderful week. Thanks so much for all the kind comments. I read and enjoy each and everyone of them. I think you may be right about giving in and lying down in their durn cell but the thought just slays me. lol

Found out the woman that murdered her boyfriend came back to our jail to serve 180 days. Now I have only been gone a year so she did not go to trial right away so what sentence did they give this woman for shooting her boyfriend in the head while he slept. Can not believe she will only be serving 6 months here.
Something is not right there.

Sweet dreams and love to all
Maggie

Glad you had a nice day with family. I'm also happy that Christi came home to mend. I hope she feels safe and secure soon. I laughed at the car story. Once my Mom was getting into her car and as she sat down she was wondering who moved her seat because she couldn't reach the steering wheel...she had sat in the back seat! So don't feel bad. Also one time she came out of work...she was working the night shift at the hospital..she opened her car door and a man's head fell out..it was attached to his body, it just fell out the door...anyway, he was drunk and climbed in her car by mistake..she never left her car unlocked again! As you can see, I have many stories about my Mom's life! Have a good week Maggie! Happy Mother's day!

Hi Maggie, I was going to bed, but when I saw you had a new post I pop in to see how you are doing. I am glad your daughter is staying with you even for a little while because trust me it does help to give you a healing strength that you didn't know you had. It will give you somebody else to think of for a while. Hey Pain medication does cause weird things. That is why I don't take them no matter how bad I hurt because they knock me on my backside. It is has been a different mother"s day. I had phone calls from one son and our daughter. We went to the hospital to see our other son who has been in the hospital since last Thursday because of his chemical asthma. Now his blood sugar is screwed up because of the medication they gave him for the asthma. My husband and I had a leisure dinner this evening. Tomorrow is back to work. I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you.I laughed at your car stories because we have all done things like that. Take care. Hugs your Missouri Friend.

Hi Maggie,

Glad that you had a happy Mothers day with your family and so pleased that your daughter has moved back with you for a while.
I had a lovely day and had breakfast cooked by our Son and then lunch with daughter, so was really spoiled.
So funny about your car story and you can laugh about it now. It easy to do when the cars are the same colour and make and must happen a lot.

Happy week, dear friend
Hugs
Carolyn

I'm so glad that you had a nice Mother'sDay with your daughter and son. and that Christi is back with you to heal. I think that it's a wise move and I hope that when she goes back to Austin she will move to a nicer neighborhood.

About the car story, It has happened to me a couple of times but there was no one inside. When I tried to open the door with my key the door wouldn't open. I sheepishly go look for my car. Sometimes I think that maybe someone stole my car.

That happens when I work too hard and I'm burning the candle on both ends.

For Mother's Day I got well wishes from my kids and a present from my visiting daughter, also got two visitors from Texas.

I spend Mother's Day cutting the lawn and working in the garden
after my barn chores and going to breakfast with my husband and friends and to church. I pulled dandelions all day in the beautiful sun. It felt like summer. We're suppose to get more rain.

Then had a steak supper and went back working outdoors until dark and was so tired that I went to bed and went to sleep.

Hope that your week goes better this time. Hugs, JB

I am kind of glad your daughter is with you for now. You have some one to help you and she can regain her confidence.
That is funny about the wrong car. I'm sure somewhere that lady is blogging about her ordeal.
Perhaps that lady that killed her boyfriend had been abused by him?? A burning bed defense?? Must be some reason for the light sentence.

Hi Maggie, so glad you had a great Mother's Day and your daughter is with you and things are getting better for her. I wish we could send some of our rain your way.

That happened to my husband one time, he was sitting in the car and a lady just opened the door and sit down in the back seat. He said you should have seen her face when she seen him. She jumped out and never said a word. We still kid him about it today. I've nearly got in the wrong car myself.
Hope you have a better week... Susie

Maggie,
Glad to hear that your lovely daughter will be staying with you for a little while. That will be good for both of you. And kuddos to Toby! My own mother's day was a disappointment; with with my kid's history...it should not be a surprise. But, it still hurts. Both my son and daughter live in the same town...and I keep my daughter's child almost every day. My son called me on Mother's day morning, while he was driving...so the phone call lasted about 20 seconds. My daughter did not call at all. My lovely grand-daughter did call, she is my hope for a better generation, but her mother didn't not get on the phone...preferring to watch t.v. By 6 pm I had worked up a good mad...and called her to ask if I had done something to make her mad since she had not bothered to call and wish me a happy mother's day. "No, I was taking a nap...and was gonna call you later on." Yeah, a nap takes all day. I'm still mad.

Hey, how about taking a quilt to work...to cover the cot. Laying on a nice quilt would be so much better than that cot!

Hugs!

Kathy

Gosh you always make me laugh, Maggie! The car story is one that has happened to me too. I think it has happened to everone at one time or other. So funny...thank goodness for your uniform!
Gla Christi is home for herself and you!! I bet you love having her company and it's great for her pocketbook too. Win-win!

PS....you are right, something not quite up to speed about the lady spending only 6 months in jail! What's up with that???

Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day. Mine too, was very nice. I went last week with my mom, who I need to see more often and my daughter, whom I haven't seen in 6 months and we had pedicures, shopping and out to lunch. It was a perfectly lovely day.
My mother has always shared family stories with us and I am always encouraging her to write them down. I hope she has. I probably need to remind her again.
The wrong car thing is so funny. I have done that before and it is humiliating, but always funny to think about later. Maybe you need to put something unique on your car, to make it stand out a bit.
I hope you have a fantastic week. Enjoy the time with your daughter. I'm sure she will feel safer being with you. Mom's are good like that. :)

I'm so glad your daughter is home with you! I had such a super Mother's Day with my two little boys and husband. I felt like a Queen for the day.

Your car story made me laugh. I had a similar experience in Colorado a number of years ago. I was walking out of a Hobby Lobby and walked to what I thought was my car. I was getting so angry because my key wouldn't open the trunk and then I looked up and another lady was having trouble getting into her car (she was a couple of cars down from me). Well, we both looked at each other and then looked at our cars and started laughing. We had the exact same cars and were trying to get into the wrong ones. What people must have thought who were walking by!

Take care.

Oh my heck Maggie!
I can't believe you almost car jacked another car and you being all "the law" and everything.
That is a pretty funny story. You totally crack me up.

I'm so sorry about your sweet daughter. It will be good for her to be able to get some love and security from you for a time.
Bless you.

I'm glad you were able to have a nice dinner with your kids.

Hope you have a great week.
Love ya!

Happy Mother's Day, Maggie!

My kiddos are all ok..glad to see your daughter is going to stay with you for a little while...

One time at a horse show, I spent a good five minutes trying to get my key to work in my truck before this cowboy comes by and asks me if I need help? I said, yes, I can't get my key to work in my truck and he said "that's because this is my truck." oops...

Happy belated Mother's Day to you too, dear Maggie! I had a lovely day spent with my mom:-)

I'm glad that Christi is living with you for now and I don't blame her at all for not wanting to go back to that apartment complex! So many weirdos in this world and no doubt you have seen your fair share with the work you do! lol

I was laughing myself silly when reading how you scared that poor woman when you thought she was in your car. I've done the same thing!!!! Except that it was a man in the driver's seat and I yanked open the door to throw my purse in before I realized he was sitting there! At the same moment I also realized I had the wrong car...VERY embarrassing! lol I'm sure he thought "yup, typical blonde"! hehe

Big hugs to you! xoxo
