I Am Overjoyed To Be Able To Do This Post!

Sometimes something happens in your life that there are not enough words in the dictionary to describe how your feeling!  This is how I felt when Christi and Paul surprised me Christmas Eve night announcing that they were now engaged to be married. Married my baby is getting married. Oh My how good that sounds even as I type it here now I am giddy with delight and excitement.

Paul came back into Christi's life a year ago after they reconnected since their High School Days. Paul is the man I have been praying that Christi would fall in love with and marry. He is everything I ask God for and even more.

I am also excited that I will not only be getting a new son in my life but two new grand babies. Paul is an amazing Father of  two wonderful children Audrey and Bryan. Their bright beautiful children and they are already calling me Grandma Yellow Hair so how awesome is that.

I have never had a Son-In-Law in my life so I pray God will give me the wisdom to be the Mother-In-Law that Paul so deserves.

Now I have a gorgeous wedding to plan with Christi. She deserves the love and happiness that is flowing in her life right now. I needed this in my life right now and I am looking forward to 2014!

I have truly missed all of you. It has been a very long time in between post. My biggest excuse is my laptop not working well enough to do post. It is five years old and like myself it is feeling it's age.

So much to my regret I have to see about buying a new one. Not looking forward to having to learn a new toy or spending the money on one.

I have been keeping all of you in my prayers this winter because most of you are experiencing horrific freezing weather. How you manage to cope in below freezing temps is beyond me. I am upset with myself for having pity parties over being so cold in this old farm house. The other day it was 36 outside and 37 in my living room. I have finally convinced my boss to buy a new heating unit but so much cold air comes in the windows and doors that not sure that is the answer. Not sure when the new unit will be installed but hopefully the near future.

My utilities bill was close to $500.00 this past month so I turned the old units off and bought radiator heaters. Hopefully this will cut my bill by maybe $200.00. Trouble with these heaters their not strong enough to heat the front living area because of the high ceilings so I have been living in the back master bedroom which has made me stir crazy. How many days til Spring?

Here in Texas we are not use to 19 degrees which is was the low here the other night. It was below freezing for sixteen hours so I had major water problems out here on the North Forty. The house the cowboy use to live in the pipes froze in the ceiling and caused major damage to the house. Now the ceilings have fallen in so the house is destroyed.

At one time there were weddings and other events out here and there is a bathroom for men and women out here and those pipes burst. So what a mess I have been dealing with.

Hope all of you are well. This flu going around is really scary. I caught a cold Christmas night and milked it for all it's worth. Did not do anything for a whole week.

Stay warm and well. Don't let the winter days get you down. I am trying my best to not let it drive me completely over the wall. I have to say I am at the top now hanging on.

As always I can not tell you how much I appreciate your friendship and always coming by to check on me.
Maybe in the next few weeks I will have that new laptop and will be back to blogging full time.

Your friendships bring so much joy into my life I would hate to not be able to enjoy your blogs.

Soon I hope I can announce to you Christi and Paul's wedding day. Thanks for coming by and being my friend. Many Blessings to You for the Happiest of New Years.

Sweet Dreams
Maggie

Congratulations to your daughter. I can feel your happiness. My daughter just married a man she went to school with from second grade to graduation. Wrong marriages for both first. I agree we here in Texas are not prepared for cold weather. I hope your new heating works for you and good luck with a new computer.

I'm so happy to see a post from you Maggie. I was checking your post today but didn't left another comment. I've missed you terribly too.

Congratulations to Christi on her engagement to Paul. That is such a great news.

I'm so sorry about your house being so cold. Good thing you don't have a baby in that house.

I don't know if you've ever heard about a plastic film that you can put on your window to keep the cold draught from coming in.

Google " WinterWindow Insulation Kit Installation Youtube video"

It's easy to install and we get it from a hardware store. I'm sure that you could find it somewhere online if they don't carry it.

I posted before going to bed this evening and I woke up for a drink of water and I checked my email and I saw your post.

I sure hope that the weather will warm up for you soon.

Keep in touch.
Big warm hugs my friend.

Congratulations to the happy couple! What good news. Planning weddings are such fun. I hope you all enjoy every minute. We, here, were caught in that Polar Vortex. Oh my goodness--I've never been so cold or seen so much snow at one time!!

Congratulations all around!

No house should have a temp of 37. As you know....you are paying way too much to heat your home and still it isn't enough. sighhhhh
Could be why Cowboy left his.

All new laptops have those APPS and I dread ever having to make that purchase wondering if I have enough brain cells left to learn the new way.
Hoping the weather warms up for you ASAP!

Congrats to Christi and Paul and you. That is wonderful news and your happiness shines through. I am a believer in class reunion rematches.
Too bad happiness doesn't have actual warming properties. How awful to only beat the outside temps by one degree and that heating bill is awful. We are warming up here and I hope it hits you even better.
Stay warm as possible and healthy.

Well, congrats to Christi and Paul and you! Sounds like you'll have many wonderful times this year with the planning and all the fun that goes with that! We're used to cold around these parts but last week was truly unusual..40below zero is not normal for us! Then this weekend it was 50de and rainy. No wonder the flu is spreading fast. I hope you stay healthy and the temps rise soon. All that damage is horrible! Glad to see you posting again Maggie!

Oh, sweet Maggie I am so happy for Christi and Paul and for you. What fun you are going to have getting the wedding all planned. I am so sorry you have to live in such a cold place and I hope the new heating unit works better. Sounds like the house could do with some new windows and doors. That is sad about the house Cowboy lived in. Will they fix it back up? Hope you are able to get a new computer soon. You will learn it quickly I just know you will. Stay warm and safe sweet friend. Love and hugs....nose kisses for the kitties.

Wow, sounds like you have been busy due to your colder than normal temps. We had the cold temps too, but thankfully, our house was prepared for it. It got to around 5 below and we are all running around without coats on. You just get used to it!

Very cool about the engagement! Enjoy planning and preparing for wedding! Congrats and enjoy the next steps!

HI Maggie!

I LOVED LOVED hearing from you the other day! I always smile so big the whole time I read letters from you! You have a big chunk of my heart!

By now your surgery is behind you & I hope it went really well! & that you have gobs of servants waiting on you hand & foot :) Okay at least 1. :) I wish it could be me! You make sure to rest now!

How could we ever get tried of hearing of wedding plans! I don't know if there is anything more beautiful than a bride's glow as she prepares for her wedding! Now if I could just figure out how to get a little of that glow back :) That was a pretty cool place you guys visited! It will be fun to see where she picks! Make sure you keep us up to date so we can all feel like we are right there with you! what a fun time of life!

Spring is desperately needed here too! We have had four days of school cancelled already because of extreme cold & another one coming on Monday. & this is Minnesota...we never cancel! But when it is -20 with the wind chill of -50 they have been cancelling b& I guess what I have heard is because they can't get the diesel busses started. Could be a rumor but that's the word going around. So we are living up to our reputation of colder than Alaska :) So when you get some warm sunshine soak your face in it for a few minutes & send it my way...We need it!!! :)

Annie is in hockey this year & it is eating up all our time but it is soooo good for her. She just loves it & has improved so crazy much that it has been so fun to watch her grow. The boys are just as wild as usual with Baby Kit turning out to be maybe the wildest of all. He started walking at 9 months & running at 10. He follows the pack of boys around EVERYWHERE and does whatever they do. He's pretty stinking cute...but then I am biased :)

I wish I could stop by more often but I hardly even sit at my computer these days...Kelly has all the kids & I am getting a rare break so I thought right aay the first thing I wanted to do was check on you & write this book! I love that no matter how long it has been we are that kinda friend where when we do visit it is right from where we left off. Love you Mags!!! Hope your recovery is fabulous!
