Making Pillows!

Since my last post I have been trying to keep up with my chores out here on the North Forty and to make pillows with my sister-in-law Linda.

Tonight I am sharing two of our pillows that were made with unique ink illustrations we purchased from
artist Michelle Palmer. I just love Michelle's art and it was fun making these two pillows.

The first pillow was made from two soft pink  lace hanker chefs.

This one we put on blue ticking. It says Therefore do not Worry about Tomorrow. I need to keep this pillow for myself since I find myself to be a constant worrier these days.

Linda and I are making these pillows for an upcoming show. At last count we have about 80 pillows which is why I find myself coming and going around here.

Since we have been getting rain again I have been busy mowing too. The rain is nice but the storms are making an old woman out of me fast. It seems sometimes I have more branches on the ground than on the trees.

A few post back I told you about my son Clint's bicycle accident. I appreciate all your prayers and sweet comments concerning his accident. He has been having a rough recovery and now he is dealing with a staph infection from all the lacerations in his mouth and face. This new crisis has me worried sick but I am doing my best to leave it in God's hands. Once again I still need your prayers for Clint. I can't tell you how much your friendship and prayers mean to me.

My brother Gary is still having a hard time with his cancer treatments but he is hanging in there and being strong. I am glad you enjoyed seeing pictures of Gary's cottage. He has really worked hard on it to get it this way.

As you know blogging has been very slow on my part. I am going to have to break down and buy a new computer if I keep on blogging. This one has been good to me for almost five years but now it takes me hours just to do a small post. One of the problems besides the money to invest in one is learning a new computer. Oh how I keep putting that off.

I often wonder how all of you manage to keep up with your blogging. It is really hard on me and I don't have children at home or a husband. So my many hats are off to you for doing everything you manage to do.

Sending you much love and sweet dreams,

Love to all
Maggie

Prayers for the ill in your family. My daughters are taking me computer shopping tomorrow. I understand that Windows 8 is hard so I may never be back here again.

Your pillows look terrific, but you guys sure are making a LOT of them. (Keeps you too busy to get into any trouble, right?)

So sorry to hear about your son's staph infection. Best wishes and all kinds of positive thoughts to him and your brother. You, too, because I know you're worrying about both of them. Take care of yourself.

I like your "pillows with a message." Sorry to hear that Clint is still ailing. I'll pray for him and your brother. I've learned that the best way to have more time for blogging is to lose your job. I don't recommend it, though! Take care and good luck at the show.

Dear Maggie, I'm so sorry about your son's slow recovery and the staph infection. I pray for a complete recovery. This is so unfortunate.

Wow, 80 pillows, that's lot of pillows. I hope that they sell well. The two that you showed are so nice.

We had a huge thunder storm and a deluge of rain during the night and I was worried about the kittens but they could always hide under the Gazebo. One day we have freezing cold and the next we have heat and high humidity, just don't know what to wear.

I wish there was a pill to sterilize cats. I have about 13 cats at the farm. Some disappears now and then.

Hugs,
JB

I'm so sorry to hear about your son and brother's latest struggles. It seems never-ending in this world sometimes, doesn't it? Without my faith and knowing that soon life will be back to great, I'd be pulling my hair out every day!!...By the way, blogging doesn't take me long because words just fly out of my mouth, and I just write what comes out! LOL

Blogging is for fun and friendship, so don't make it into a job! Live life and if the urge to blog comes over you go ahead.
I missed the post about your son. My son also had a bicycle accident and planted his face on the sidewalk. I will definitely add Clint to my prayers list.

Your family has had its share of bad luck this summer. Positive thoughts are always being sent your way.

Staph infections are nasty and insidious. It's so good that he has medical help on top of it.

I'm in love with your pillows and am having great fun in imagining a house full of pillows.

I post about clay at least once a week...it helps me keep up with the clay community. I also talk about food and gardens which for me are closely connected with clay.

Toes crossed for an excellent show.

Somehow I missed the posts about Clint and Gary. I will put both in my prayers.
Eighty pillows, good grief. How to you find time to mow and as for getting a new computer I understand your reluctance. There is nothing more frustrating than to learn a new system. I have a good friend moaning about that now.
Take care Maggie and don't overdo.

Oh darlin' what precious pillows!!! I'm sure your show will be a hit and a half.

Know I've been prayin' for you and your fam sweetie.

I haven't fallen off the earth but have been so cotton pickin' overwhelmed with life. I see to my little Alzheimer MIL's needs and my own Mama spent over 100 days in the hospital. Poor things, seems everything that could go wrong did...including MRSA. The whole story is unreal. All the cropland of the Ponderosa went under water in the floods. Mud in the house...not so nice!

So bloggin' has taken more than a back burner...it's fallen plumb off the stove. Heeehehehe!

God bless ya girl and I'll keep you in my prayers. Take care and have yourself one fantastic day!!!

Love...Love...Love those pillows :o)

Sweet Maggie I love the pillows they are so pretty.

I understand about the limbs. We have needed rain so much to help us out of drought conditions we finally got some yesterday but now the yard is once again covered with limbs, twigs and pine needles. So sorry to hear about Clint will continue prayers for him and for Gary too. Hoping to hear good news about them both very soon. Keeping you in prayers too. Love you! Hugs Maggie

Sorry your son and brother are struggling..I will keep them in my prayers. My computer has been giving me fits too. I did get it fixed so I could continue to do blogging and all other tasks..but a new one is going to happen sooner than later. I've removed all important documents and pics and I'm just waiting for the final crash and saving my pennies for the new one. Blogging does take up time and I get behind often. It's been a busy summer...soon to be a busy fall, but I would miss you too much to quit! So hang in there and enjoy your lovely pillows and I'll enjoy your blog!

You're in my prayers Maggie as well as your loved ones. I haven't been able to read blogs as much as I've wanted to lately so I've been behind on the news. Love your pillows! Big hugs to you!

I have to tell you, I LOVE those pillows! Y'all do beautiful work. Now, have you tried running a program to "clean up" your computer? That can speed it up. Or if you don't have a lot saved, you can try to take it back to factory settings, but then you lose the saved stuff. If you back it up, you can restore back to one of those. Things to think about.....I had a loaner PC with windows 8 on it, and, yeah, it took so long to figure it out, then I had to return the loaner and go back to the old ways.....what a pain.....

Hello Maggie,
So loving those pillows you and Linda made. Am I remembering correctly? 80 of them? That is amazing. They all look fabulous, hope you will sell out.

Goodness about the bike accidents. That is crazy. Hopefully they are both feeling better by now. And how is your brother doing?

Take care, go take a well deserved rest!
