Get Busy Living!

Every day I think things will slow down and I will be back on here visiting with you but it's just not happening. We are behind on our rainfall but it has not slowed my mowing down.

I am still dealing though with trees that are dying and having to be removed.
This one was right next to the house so I naturally I wanted it gone right away.
This is just a sample of what a mess going on right outside of my front porch.
I tried downloading more pictures but google is not cooperating with me this afternoon.

It seems all my pictures are showing up on here sideways. What in the world is wrong with Blogger?
I was trying to show you a picture of my closet. The other morning I heard a strange noise and went looking for where it came from and  to my surprise the rod in my closet had fallen. All my clothes were of course on the floor. What a mess!

This called for a trip to Home Depot to buy hardware for the closet. These walls out here are all solid old wood and man was that fun trying to drill holes so I could get the rod back up.

I did manage to get rid of a lot of clothes I have not worn in over a year. You know you have too many clothes when your clothes rod breaks. hee hee

Just a few days before the closet fell Tinkberbell and I were woke up during the night by a loud noise and she ran one way I ran the other. lol The next morning I found a big shelf in the living room had fallen. Broke a few of the pictures I had on it.

Nothing like thinking someone is kicking your door down. I hate it when I have to grab my gun and walk around like Barney Fife checking everything out.

Saturday morning about eleven I was leaving the house when I looked over to the open field in the front of my house. I noticed an animal having trouble walking. I ran toward it praying it wasn't my cat Billie Sue but it was. She had been hit by a car and was trying her best to make it back to the house.

One look at her broke my heart. I knew she was hurt bad and I hated to move her. I called the cowboy but he was not home. So I wrapped her up and drove her to the nearest Vet Clinic.

Her left leg was broke so bad they could not put a cast on it. She had to have surgery today and will be fine. I may get to pick her up tomorrow. I am really anxious about seeing her but scared too that I may not be able to take care of her properly.

Tinkerbell does not realize it but her whole world is about to be turned upside down. She is getting a new room mate because no way can I leave Billie Sue outside anymore.

None of my outside cats have ever went to the highway at least I have never seen any up there. I am guessing something might have chased her there during the night. I had been letting her and Momma Kitty in the bathroom at night but Momma Kitty had her babies and so she has been outside with them since.
Billie Sue was letting me bring her in alone but she soon realized she would rather be outside and I quit chasing her to put her inside. Now I really regret it.

Of course the vet bill is out of this world crazy. I feel guilty spending money that I need to keep in savings but I just could not give them the word to put her to sleep when they told me she would be like new again. She is only a year old born on my brother Billy's birthday last April. That is why I named her Billie Sue.

My sweet kids have reservations for us to spend the weekend at the beach. It's a late Birthday celebration  for me and now I am not sure I will be able to go because of having to take care of my cat. Christi is having trouble finding a place to leave her dog so we may just have to cancel and try again some other time.
Talk about depressing I have been looking forward to this trip for a while now.

I know you hear this all the time but I do think of you often and hope to catch up with you soon. Somehow I have to figure out how to manage my life better where I can enjoy things like blogging again. What's that saying Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying! I feel I need more in my life but What?

Sweet Dreams and Love to All
Maggie

I hate it when an animals is injured. One of my oldest sheep -15- just died, a day after being sheared. At least he died cooler and he lived a Very Good Life.

So sorry to hear about the kitty. That is always such a heartbreak. Those creatures do get into our hearts don't they

Yes life is too busy.

Look at the bright side, when you're that busy, you don't have time to get into trouble. :-)

I'm so sorry about your cat. Poor thing. Our kitties stay in the house all the time, but a neighbor's cat (our step-son, we say) who hangs out in our yard a good part of the time (I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that we feed, water, and cuddle him) gets into scraps with other cats from time to time. He may not be "ours", but we sure hate to see him hurt. I'd hate it if he got hit by a car. How awful.

Sorry you have to miss your time at the beach. Guess you'll have to sit with your cat and read a good book, eh? (HA!)

aww poor kitty.. glad to hear it'll be ok..

miss you bunches~! I was hoping you'd have moved by now and not have to deal with all that land mowing and toppled trees. I worry about ya.

big hugs and good thoughts headed your way.

I don't know how you do it all, Maggie! I'm tired just reading about your days. I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, but glad she can be fixed up. That stinks about your vacation because I'm sure you were not only looking forward to spending the time with your kids, but I'll bet you could have used some rest and relaxation. Hopefully, you'll be able to go in a couple of months and maybe it won't be too hot then.

So sorry about your cat. I hope she is on the mend soon.
sounds like there is something going on in your house with all the things letting go the curtain rod and the shelf.
Have a better week.

Didn't you once think you had a "spirit" living with you? Sounds like it is trying to get your attention.
I am so sorry about Billie Sue. Hope she will be well soon and adapt to inside. I know how you feel about the expense. I once said I would hook on the streets if I had to for Mighty. Hope you don't get that far:)) The older we get, the less our earning power.
You will get your vacation with family yet. Maybe the delay is for the best.
Don't work too hard gal.

Thank-you for coming to my blog Maggie, and for being a new follower! I am following back, love your blog!!
You'll be surprised at how well your kitten will heal. I had a dog that had a broken leg, and with the plates she was walking around the next day like nobody's business!

Get well soon Billie Sue. Love that name and love cats. I used to have a cow named Shelly Marie. I wrote many blog entries about her and sure miss her.

I'm sorry about the cat getting hurt and in return hurting your wallet, but glad that she'll be OK.

That's a mean mower you got there. That looks like my husband's old bush wacker as he calls it. The mower he has now cuts real fast as they have acres to cut around the farm about twice a week. It has two bars to govern instead of a stirring wheel.

You have some serious tree mess to clear up and I hope that the landlady doesn't expect you to clear that yourself.

I've missed you on Blogger and I'm behind reading comments too. There is just so much to do but I just can't seem to have time to see everyone right away.

I only have half as much cloths as I used to have because I rarely go out much anymore. I'm satisfied staying home most of the time.

I hope that your legs are healing. I worry about you. Please take care of Maggie.
Hugs,
JB

Maggie, I can't imagine you being lazy. With all that you have to do to mow with that big tractor and hook the power take off on that machine and look after that place and everything in between. You are not lazy , girl. You may be doing too much and feel like you would love lounging around. That is not being lazy.... Years ago I did a lot and still had time to lounge around with reading books but it seems as I get older, the only lounging around I do is at the computer trying hard to get caught up with blogs when I have the time in between doing something.

Some days I'm just worn out from lack of sleep but that is not lazy either. I just don't have enough common sense to call it a day, ha,ha,ha.

I certainly don't want to make you feel lazy cause you are not...
Hugs. JB

Maggie, you are way more important that that stupid grass. Give your legs top priority over cutting grass. I'm sure that your kids would agree with me.

Thanks for answering my question about your legs.

Thanks for stopping by my place today. Like you, I've not been getting a lot of blogging done. I so miss it when I don't, but life gets in the way sometimes.

You have been having a lot happen around your place. Things falling down and getting broken and then cleaning up the mess is never fun.

So sorry to hear about your kitty. I hope she all better soon.

Well if it's not one thing it's another! We sure do have similar lives. Somethings always breaking here and I think we keep the vet in business! Hope it all works out so you can take your trip. Sure wish I could take one. Just get away and have some fun...what ever that is. Not sure if I know anymore. Thank you for all your sweet comments on my projects. So many things that need to be done, and I don't have the least desire to do them. Ah such is life...

Glad your cat is Ok now and I hope she heals quickly...You sound as busy as me and I love the movie that line came from..."Shawshank"..it was filmed here in my little corner of the world. It sounds a bit like your world is falling down around you..starting with your livingroom and closets..and now the trees! Hang in there.."tomorrow is another day!" Good line from another good movie!

I'm so sorry about your cat and glad she will have a full recovery. I know it was expensive, but I think you absolutely did the right thing when she's only a year old.

Hope you can find a way to still make your vacation happen! You deserve one.

=)

Oh no, your poor cat. I hope she heals fast. Growing up our cats were in and out of the house all the time. I know what you mean about the computer. It takes a lot of time up. Some days I just don't have the time. Have a great week.

That comment Get busy living or dying is true. I just paid a friend $200 bucks to remove a tree and he left 1/2 of it standing. I have to say the young people love to tuck it to Elders. Not so when I was young we did things for nothing with not a thought of making money. The world is sure different. Lots of rain here and that grass id growing faster than we
can cut it. Happy Summer yvonne

So glad you stopped by & said hello! Please let me know which images you would like, Sweet Friend. I can make a special order for you. They will look a bit different because each one is hand-drawn... but I'll make sure they're sweet ;)
Take care of you~

Hi Maggie, just dropped in to say I'm thinking of you and wish you didn't had to work so hard. It doesn't seem fair to me.

I hope that you are taking care of your legs. God only gives us two and they are both very precious. Please take good care of them.

I hope that you are staying as cool as possible.

Big hugs,
JB
