Blogazine Guest Terra!

Hope all is well with you tonight! I am so excited that I have a very sweet, lovely and talented fellow blogger that has graciously agreed to be my next Blogazine Guest.

It has been fun getting to know Terra out here in this fabulous world of blogging so I thought you too would love to meet her.

When I thought of the Blogazine idea on here a few years ago it was because I know everyone of us has our own story to tell . Also I want my blog to be like one big family and I felt by doing this my blogging friends could meet friends of mine they have not yet met.

So meet and welcome Terra of  the blog Terra Garden!

Hi Maggie,
I am charmed that you invited me here to your Blogazine and I can see I am in good company.
My creativity is partly expressed in writing, and I have two books published with gals I met in an online writing group.
The first in our series is “Scrapbook of Christmas Firsts: Stories to Warm Your Heart and Tips to Simplify Your Holiday”, and our new book is “Scrapbook of Motherhood Firsts: Stories to Celebrate and Wisdom to Bless Moms.”

Our mom book is an ideal Mother’s Day gift, baby shower gift or an anytime gift for a mom you care about. New moms and seasoned moms will gain some tips and definitely some smiles, and also some recipes.
We include lots of short tips, like how to calm a child, and lots of humor. We share recipes kids can make, including my recipe for banana, chocolate chips, and marshmallows, perfect for putting on the grill outside or for baking in the oven. See Trish’s easy to make strawberry ice cream recipe, and her tip from her mom “Give yourself a break. Aim for a C on your housekeeping or cooking report card and know that it will all be okay in the end.”

The Internet and the blogging world connect people in a friendly way, and my co-authors have become my friends. Two live in Ohio, two in Texas and me way out here in California.
Can you believe we wrote this book in harmony and have never all met each other in person? When we wrote our first book we joked we would all meet when Oprah would interview us on her TV show.  Ha ha, that didn’t happen.
My co-authors are Leslie Wilson, Cathy Messecar, Karen Robbins and Trish Berg. Writing is something we do on our own, and is a bit lonesome, so it is great to have writing partners for my books.
Our books are each hardcover, charming color on each page and I think the price is low, about $12.
Another passion of mine is gardening, and if you saw our garden, you might not know that, because I have lots of weeds so it looks kind of wild which the songbirds appreciate.  I also have lots of flowers, vegetables, shrubs, bird feeders, bird baths and a chaise lounge for sitting in and reading. If I sit still the birds ignore me and become very bold.
My hubby and I have been married for 41 years and are happy that our adult children live nearby. Our sons are the ones I practiced my parenting on, as I garnered the tips for our mom book. And our kids still love me, thank goodness.

Hope you enjoyed reading about Terra. Please click on her site Terra Garden  and visit her fun Blog.

Thank you Terra for doing this story for me. I have been wanting to start back up with my Blogazine Stories and I appreciate you helping me do so.

You know I would love to have you as my next guest so just send me your story to maggiemallard888@yahoo.com.

I am had a bone density test today and found out that I am no longer 5'1" it seems I am now all of 4'11". How disturbing is it to find out your shrinking.

Since finding out that I am a walking Heart Attack last week I have given up all the foods I love. Giving up cookies is a big sacrifice but a must along with all the southern fried foods I so enjoy.

Last week when the doctor was running all these test on me she came into the room and mentioned she wanted to do a Pab Smear Test on me and I immediately spoke without thinking which happens a lot with me and I told her " OH No.....I don't think so No one has been down there in years and we weren't going to start today!"

I meant that I no longer need this test run but of course it did not quite say it in the way I meant to say it.
You should of seen the look on her face but thank goodness when I explained what I meant to say she died laughing.

For all of you who have had dreams of me and the cowboy getting together well I wanted to tell you our crazy adventures out here on the North Forty are soon to be over because my boss has ask him to move because she hates the house he lives in and wants to bull doze it down.

He is of course upset because he loves living out here. I feel bad for him but the house he lives in is in bad shape and I can understand her not wanting to spend the money on it.

Have a wonderful weekend and always I think of all the thousands of blogs out here you could be visiting but you are here with me so boy does that make me feel special and very Happy. Thank you for being my friend.

Love to all
Maggie

So good to see you on here. Are you still moving. Maybe Cowboy could move in with you. I hate to see him go, you have such great stories about him. I miss you dear. I have been crazy busy all of a sudden andt seems I will be for another month until things settle down.....but as they say, It's all good. I hope that your tests come out okay......they scare you from time to time. (((((HUGS)))))

I'm glad you are taking care of yourself, Maggie. It can be anxiety producing to find out that things are not quite as right as you think they are. Wonderful to read Terra's post. I will have to look up those books she co-authored. Too bad about the cowboy. I hope he isn't getting any ideas about moving in with you. : )

Maggie, I am so pleased you invited me to be a guest on your Blogazine. In a few days I will post on my blog about your blogazine with a link. I am busy with family stuff right now.
I am sad the cowboy will move since he enjoys his home and provides you with stories to tell. Will he stay in the area?

Love your sense of humor. We have to laugh to keep from crying with all the things we have to put up with as we age. I just had to start taking steroids today for a condition I have. Just after I have lost a few pounds I will probably start blooming out plus other side effects but I don't have another choice. Good luck to us both.

You always make me laugh, Maggie. Now, think about the opportunity here...homeless cowboy, loves your neighborhood...work it, girl.

Enjoyed reading your guest blogger. Goodness, a published author. Impressive how she managed with the co-authors.
I'll bet your Doctor is repeating your comment at her next cocktail party and she is the hit of the party. You are too funny.
Keep doing what you have to Maggie. Might not be fun but feeling good sure beats a few tasty treats. I keep telling myself that.

Oh Maggie, you are a riot. I hope that you let the doctor go down there to check if it has shrunk too... ha,ha,ha.

Sorry about the cowboy loosing his house to demolition. Is she planning to rebuilt the house?

Take care of yourself.
Hugs,
JB

I don't know sweetie, maybe you should offer that cowboy a room! I have a soft spot for cowboys....

Sounds like you and I have a similar cardiovascular profile. I'm off the good food, too!

Hate to hear that the cowboy is moving. I've always had a little dream wish that the two of you might get together one day!

=)

Hi Maggie, nice to see that you are doing the blogazine again and to see that Terra was your guest.

I gave up all the bad food stuff years ago. My dad had bypass surgery at the age of 45 (I'm 47) and all his brothers and sisters (except one) had heart procedures or surgery so I don't want to go down that road. Been walking every day, even though it is hot as hell during-- still bearable late afternoons and in the morning.

Sorry to hear the Cowboy has to move. But your adventures and stories will never end. :) Best wishes, Tammy

Hi, Maggie.

Nice to meetcha. Terra popped in on my blog and left a comment, so natch, I popped in on HER blog... which led me here. I'm so glad it did. This sounds like my kinda place, and my kinda people. (NO! I don't mean "old"...)

I'm bemused by the references to your cowboy. We have a Cowboy here, too, only it's a neighbor's fat cross-eyed cat who is under the mistaken assumption that he is OUR fat cross-eyed cat. (I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that we feed, water, and cuddle him every day when he comes over.)

Anyhow, I digress. Count me in as your newest groupie. Like Arnie said, "I'll be bach."

Doesn't matter your height, sweet Maggie ... you are a giant ball of love & fire in our eyes ... FOREVER! Hope that your health stays good, & you take good care. Love you to the moon & back.

Come join me on bloglovin' ... I don't like google+ at all.

Miss you ...

hi sweetie! I love reading more about Terra. I just love her. I am so glad that she shared that photo of herself because I love it when I can see my friends as face to face as we can get. I learned so much about her in this post.

Too bad about the cowboy :) I still laugh about you trying to climb through the upper story window of your house and your behind sticking out when a neighbor drove by. I think of that every time I think of you.

Hi Maggie,

Lovely to see a post from you, dear friend and many thanks for visiting me.
It was great to read Terra's post, and how neat that she has co-authored some books and will see if I can get them here.
Hope you are enjoying the weekend and wish you all the best with your tests and hope you will still get to see the cowboy.
Sending hugs

Thanks for hosting my co-author sweet Terra in your blogazine. She's a prolific gardener as well, and shared with our Christmas readers where to get seeds to grow the American variety of myrrh. And I loved reading about gardening chocolates at her site. Clever, smart, and a good writer.

Your books look very interesting Terra. I'll have to check them out. And Maggie, you just never know about that cowboy. Things have a way of working out one way or another. :) Cheers.
