Happy Memorial Day!

How are you? I thought of you often these past few weeks but could not for the life of  me do a post.
If it could go wrong out here on the North Forty it did. Between everything breaking and my health issues it as been an incredible few weeks.

The past few months I have had a painful rash on my leg. After seeing several doctors I find out I have a vein disease and will need surgery to remove some veins in my leg.

I also had blood work done and it turns out that my cholesterol is off the chart high. My doctor told me I was a walking heart attack. Talk about an eye opener. So now I am reading everything I can find on lowering my cholesterol.

On top of all these doctor visits my air conditioning unit went out along with my refrigerator. It seems we had a power surge out here on the North Forty and my house and the pink house were both hit. We are already suffering with 90 degree temps so I am a big sissy when it comes to my air being out in the house. It was only a few days waiting on the repair man but it seemed like weeks. ha ha

I had to replace the refrigerator and since I knew Texas was having a tax free day on certain energy saving appliances I did not buy it until yesterday. Spent today waiting on them to deliver it. Nothing fancy since the kitchen out here is just a closet and all the doors are so small

I could go on and on about the things happening these past few weeks but I love you to much to continue telling you all my troubles. :)

It wasn't all bad I celebrated a big big Birthday on the 13th! I am officially now on Medicare. Where oh where have the years gone.

The picture of the snow man was taken in Vermont this weekend.  It amazes me that we are in the nineties and their still having snow. As much as I love the North East I could not handle snow in late May.

I hope your enjoying this special holiday. Be safe and take time to remember our wonderful Men and Women serving our beautiful country. May God Bless all of our Veterans and their families. Remember our fallen soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice for us.

This week I have a friend of ours out here in Blog land who is going to be a Blogazine Guest. I do hope you come back and meet Terra. She is a lovely lady and you will love reading her story.

Sweet Dreams

Love to all
Maggie

They have many pills to bring down your cholesterol; You just have to find the one that is best for you. I have been on a few and they do work quickly, however, one of the bad effects is leg pain. I take CoQ10 that my doctor recommended and it works. It is not cheap though.

Good luck with your surgery and I hope your AC stays up and running all summer.

Sorry about your health problems, I'll mention you in my prayers tonight. 400 IU of Vitamin E a day helps lower cholesterol in SOME people. It sounds like you HAVE had your problems lately; I hope things are much better for the rest of the year.

It seems like when it starts, the bad stuff just snowballs (like Vermont Lol) Sorry Maggie, I hope that is the end of your troubles and you get to enjoy the North 40 instead of repair it.
Keep an eye on that cholesterol Missy!!

Happy Belated Birthday Maggie. Now you are officially a senior so take advantage of it.
I'm worried about your health....
Your health problems sounds very serious and I hope that you will take care of following Doctor's order.

There is a lot of natural food that fights the bad cholesterol and I use them everyday, like garlic, nuts, olive oil, whole grain oatmeal and many other good food. There is a lot of info online.

It seems that when bad things happens, it snowballs like Kim said. I don't know how you do all the mowing with those leg problems. I thought that you were in Charleston with your boss.

I'll keep you in my prayers, it's the least I can do for a blogger friend.
Hugs,
JB

I heard about that snow....I really can't believe it! I had been dieting for a year, eating healthy and my cholesterol was off the chart in January. I was put on medication, changed things up and it was still off the charts in April. Have been put on a different one and I go back in July however I have really changed things up this time. Everything I put in my body is recommended to lower cholesterol and I started a 1 mile walk with a Jane Fonda DVD. I have COPD so exercise is hard for me. I go back in July for testing. I lost 40 pounds last year and this is the first time I've ever had high cholesterol!!! Wishing you complete success.

Aww Maggie, when the lumps come they do come in bunches. Try to remember the good things come like that also and you are due an upswing.
Bad news about the cholesterol but good news that it has been caught and you can tackle it.
That surgery doesn't sound like a bit of fun. Hope it goes well and you hardly have any down time.
Do take better care lady. We care.
Belated Happy Birthday. The age isn't all that cool but the insurance is a big help.

I love the first pic...it wasn't that cold here, but it was chilly and rainy all day. We need the rain so I'm not complaining! I hope you're feeling better soon and I'm sorry to hear you'll need surgery. Happy Birthday to you and I hope your week improves!

Maggie, what a rough several weeks you have had with those pesky health issues, and the a/c and refrigerator stopping working. Glad to hear you are back in the blog saddle and celebrated that big birthday.
Looking forward to being your Blogazine guest.

Oh Maggie, I was really wondering why you hadn't posted in so long. I read all your posts and when you don't post I get a little worried.
Sounds like you have had enough on your plate and I hope your health issues aren't too serious and you become healthly soon.
Hugs!

Sorry, to hear of the health issues. Rains and pours - seems like.

Thanks for stopping by the blog. I know what you mean by getting busy. I've hardly had a moment to check in and relax with the blog reading. And it is something so enjoyable. I keep thinking we'll wake up tomorrow and it will be autumn already.

Thank you for the highlight about Terra. I've been enjoying her blog for a few years now.

Take care of yourself.
