Scary Things Happening at the Ole Farm House!

Hello all my dear sweet friends! It is still lala land over here at the North Forty. Up all last night in pain so I took a double dose tonight to see if maybe I could get some rest even though a double dose means Steven King dreams. The dreams or nightmares I have been having on these pain pills is worth at least one long post. Lol
Remember I promised to tell you about some of my experiences in bed while counting the slats on my ceiling. For you that are just here for the moment I should explain that I suffered a tremendous fall at work and on the way down from about 5 feet I hit the back of my head on a shelf built with two by fours and then somehow landed face down on the concrete floor. Turns out along with a concussion I have broke two vertebras. This was six weeks ago and it feels like it happened yesterday. Yes, I am a big cry baby…pain and I don’t mix very well especially longer than a day.

I feel after this post my list of followers will drop to may two but here goes my story. Actually in my defense you all knew I was somewhat crazy when you started following me so that being said think before you delete. Hahahaha

This ole farm house I live in is well over a hundred years old. Haunted I will leave that up to you to decide. The night I moved in two of my crazy friends decided they wanted to spend the night with me because they thought it would be fun to have a sleep over the first night in this ole house.

Alan and Shirley are a lot of laughs and they were a big help setting up my beds so we could all have a place to sleep. Turns out sometime during the night Shirley comes bursting into my room jumps in bed with me telling me she kept hearing noises. Not long after she joined me here comes Alan abut 3 in the morning telling Shirley to scoot over he was sleeping with us. I protested until they both insisted they heard something upstairs moving around.

I thought Jeezzzzzzzz Marie this is dumb I going to sleep where Shirley was and so I moved to that room. Well you guessed it thirty minutes later or less I was in bed with those two crazies.

This was where I had to live so I told myself it was nothing and forgot about it. Then one day Tinkerbell and I are upstairs and I am ironing my uniform for work. Out of the blue Tinkerbell’s hair stands up on her back and she breaks her neck running out of the room and down the stairs. Yep I was right behind her. She was sitting at the bottom of the stairs just staring up at me and I went down to her. Never could coax her back upstairs but I waited a while then finished my ironing.

On another occasion after this I think it was all my children were here spending the night. My son Clint and his wife Andrea were in one bedroom, me and my grandbabies in my room and Chad and Christi in the living room. Christi slept on the couch and Chad on a blow up bed in the living room floor. Even with beds upstairs they chose to do this. The next morning I got up and Andrea is in bed with Chad. I laughed and ask her what the heck and she said she saw an old woman in the room with her and Clint. I told her it was probably me getting up during the night checking the heat and she insist it was not me.

Well don’t fall out of your chairs laughing but more than once I have felt the bed moving like it does when Tinkerbell has jumped up on it and walks over to cuddle up beside me. Several times or maybe half dozen times I look and there is no Tinkerbell anywhere around. Yet I still can feel the moving. First time it happened I could not get out of the bed fast enough.

What does this have to do with my experiences while laid up 24/7 for the last 6 weeks? Well I just wanted to share these experiences with you so you would not think I am way over taking the pain pills.

Ok one Neurosurgeon told me to lay flat on my back for four weeks no pillow just flat. Another one told me it probably would not hurt if I lay on my side now and then. Good golly Ms Molly who do you agree with. So for weeks I did the flat thing wanting so badly to get well. One evening my brother Billy and his wife Linda came by to bring me some groceries and I was telling them about how I missed sleeping on my side and they said well to try it and see if it hurts me. So that night after they left I took my pills and was laying flat and could not sleep so I rolled over on my side. I know your not going to believe this but I was just getting comfy and all of sudden I was pushed really hard on my back. I know your thinking crazy. Well just think what I thought when it happened. Also it was not a gentle push. I am laying there trying to figure out what just happened and in a few minutes I roll over to my other side and it happened again. Then I feel the mattress move just like Tinkerbell jumped up on it and then the movements toward me. The thing about that was Tinkerbell was already in bed and not moving toward me. It took me less than a minute to get the heck out of that room but I have to tell you Tinkerbell beat me to the door.
Ghost Pictures, Images and Photos

I know your thinking I am drugged up but sugar I have gone over and over this in my head and I know that it happened before I fell a sleep and I did not do it so you tell me do I have someone else living with me besides Tinkerbell?

My dad’s sister use to tell me ghost stories of their old country home when they were kids and my dad would get mad at her for telling us the stories. I myself never really believed her stories but boy could she tell some good ones. Now I find myself telling one almost as good as hers.

Well hope I have not scared you off from my site because I love each and every one of you.

Sweet Dreams

Now I am scared too! My grandma used to tell me ghost stories when I was little. Some of the stories are very similar to the ones you have told.

Jeff has some pretty scary stories from the first house he lived in too. He found out that someone had died in the house. Somehow he did some research and found out the person's name and asked them to stop doing all the scary things they were doing. It may seem crazy, but after that he never had any trouble.

After you read my post you are going to think I have been dipping into your pain pills...lol!

I am so sorry that you are not feeling better. I am praying that you will get some relief soon!

Take Care!

Love,
~Dan~

That is downright creepy, Maggie! I don't think I could live in a house that gave me the heebie jeebies. Seriously! (And I don't even believe in ghosts!!)

So...anybody know a good exorcist?

;)

Hey Maggie my friend had a ghost where she lived it was a man that built the house they were renting..the kids saw foot prints where he had walked..she said he would kind of hover and she could feel him..she also saw him and described him in detail..once he got really close and she told him she would take care of his place and could see that he loved the place..she asked him not to stand so close to her and he respected her and stopped...maybe your ghost was telling you that you need to stay on your back to heal..maybe they are only trying to help you get better...talk to them to see if you get a response..can't hurt right?..I do hope you get to feeling better soon.;)

Maggie, you need to help her "cross over" or at least teach her how to play poker to help pass the time.
She obviously thinks you should sleep on your back. That is your third opinion.
I would be purely facinated by the experience and am a bit envious, of your resident spook, not your condition.
Seriously, do take care and be well soon.

Hi Maggie:
Still here...not going anywhere, girlfriend! I've had similar experiences. Some day we'll have to compare notes. I do agree with Primitive Inn, though. Perhaps this entity could offer some healing help and give you some space if you asked.

Now, I also think you should contact The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) from Sci Fi's Ghost Hunters. They travel all over the US and I bet they'd jump at the chance to investigate the Back Forty. Of course, you have to get better first (and get all "purtied up") so they don't confuse you with the really scary stuff!

Glad to read your post today, my friend. I got your lovely card yesterday and really appreciated your kind words. Talk to you again soon.
Love you,
Donna

He or she doesn't sound like a "mean" ghost. I think you need to have a little chat and explain the new house rules. Then maybe ask them if they do dishes or vacuum....maybe if they are bored this housework will distract them from you!!
LOL - Luv ya Maggie

Oh Maggie Dear!

If you recall I live in a Historic neighborhood and being a small community I know lots of my neighbors in theses old houses. One or two have told of ghosts. My old baby sitter (a woman in her 70's now) has one in her house that the whole family has "seen" at times.....She's harmless.

Now you're going to delete MY name from your list of friends,,,LOL, but my dear departed husband came to "see" me a couple times before he passed over. Complete with leaving his aerial flight manuel in the middle of the livingroom floor!!

I agree that "she" seems a bit motherly by pushing you around. I think she just wants what's best for you!

Take care and see if you can get her to go haunt your EX for a while!!!

Hugs and Pieces,
Shell

Well Maggie:
I think it is time for Ms. Pearl to speak to your ghost. I agree with the lady Shell above except you should have the ghost go visit the ugly skank your husband is with now.
Darling, I personally know the gosh darn pain you are experiencing too well. I am fortunate that I can lay and go to sleep on my side.
I was suppose to go for bladder surgery yesterday but it is re-scheduled for next Friday the 18th. I am waiting for another MRI to see about my next spine surgery. I am not a sissy and do NOT take any pain medication except the occasional Tylenol when my brain hurts : )
I will be glad when you can come visit and see my 10 month old grand daughter : )
You take care honi and hurry and get well!!!
hugs (not too tight)

Hello Maggie! Thanks for swingin by my lil ole blog!
I found your site through Dan. During one of my boughts with insomnia at 3 a.m. this morning, I read your post. And the hair on the back of my neck stuck straight up! I live in an house 80+ years old and can relate to some of the things you posted. Infact, during a meeting on Friday night I felt someone poke me in the back. Guess what! When I turned around there was no one there! Yikes...Perhaps that's the reason for the insomnia. lol.
Have a wonderful weekend & I look forward to reading more of your lively postings!

Maggie...I BELIEVE YOU!!! Sure do! I use to live in a 150 yr old house. Stories I could tell!

Marguerite (Tina) Smith Hart said...

Oh Maggie I would never let a thing like a little ghost scare me from your blog, haha. Believe me when I tell you I could tell some stories. I was born and raised in Montreal Canada with a largely French population and the French are BIG believers in paranormal stuff! All the way back to my grandma Bouchard (who once ran a bad spirit out of her home) it is just something we take as normal and usual. I have had the bed experience you speak of and even woke up one night with arms around me holding me tight and thought it was my husband only to realize he was on the other side of the bed!!!
I always keep a bible in my room now and have a crucifix on the wall.
If I were you I would tell her that she had her turn living there and now it is yours and she needs to go on to her reward and let you and your family live in peace.
Love ya hon!

Hi, sweet Maggie!

You can't run me off, I am here for the long haul. I believe you too, I have some ghost stories of my own.

Sure hope your back is healing and you are going to be good as new very soon. I know you have to be so tired of laying on your back and not being able to move around much.

Big hugs sweet lady!

I'm stayin'. Some of us have lived with FRIENDS, no matter what home we occupy.. My daughter and I have gotten used to them..
Since you have companions, you may as well ask them if they have any good medical advice from that side of the curtain.. You might be surprised how helpful they can be...
Keep us updated.

are you surprised by all the 'believers'. Well there must be something to it. Make friends, that seems like the best approach and rest and take your meds and get better, although even in your delicate state you sure do entertain!!!!

Oh your sense of humor is returning, you sweet onery person. I love the old lady flashing the ghost. Where do you find these things.
I do believe your stories. I believe there are spirits not in the white Casper form. When I had my back surgery, of all things, they gave me Morphine. I didn't realize this is the standard drug of choice that they give you in the operating room and afterwards. I can't do morphine. I literally will climb up the walls. I itch, blood pressure goes up and it does nothing for pain.
Anyway, I seriously think this story(s) happened and it wasn't the drug. In the recovering room I woke up. I saw a lady standing by the nurse's station looking around that looked like my friend that had died the year before. (She was only 50, from an irregular heart beat.)
Anyway, I really thought it was her just checking on me. Then later that night my B
FF that was a nurse on my floor and my hubby were helping me to the potty...took two of them.
A flash went by and it was her again. I smiled and said, "Did you see that." I was like so happy to see her again......they said it was the Morpine. Well, to this day I believe she was there checking on me.
Thanks again Dearie for your birthday present give a way.
Are you sure you want to part with the dolly and the cross?

Maggie, I believe you...I lived in a 200+ year old house in Vermont when my kids were little and there was more than a few "noises" in it. Hope you get to feeling better so you can get up and out...I would be stir crazy by now.

Maggie...you need to find out if they have a paranormal group in your area because they will come out for free to set up a camera. I know stuff like this happens all the time!

I hope you are getting better bit by bit!!

Love you sweet girl,

I found your blog through my friend Donna at brynwood needlework. I enjoyed your post and had a chuckle or two reading some of the comments. I don't handle pain medication well and it causes me to see things that aren't. I will be back to read your blog again and I do hope you get to feeling better.

I completely believe you. Maybe you should just have a talk with the ghost and tell her to move on. Check out what we experienced here http://www.howdyfromcowtown.com/2009/10/camping-with-ghost.html

I truly hope that you get to feeling better soon. Take care.

I love haunted houses! I could so be a ghosthunter. We live in a 120 year old house. I love all the little bumps and squeaks that go on. We even have some apparitions too. They scare the crap out of my hubby. We also get smells in the house too. Good smells though. Like flowers when there are none.

I stopped over after reading the French Bear's blog. We have a ghost that jumps into our bed, too! We thought one of the cats sneaked into our bedroom (hubby doesn't want animals in bed with us), but whenever we look, the door is closed and no cats. But we could feel the little paws walking over us! One night I woke up and saw it. It was a largish brindle cat. Then poof! No cat. It was probably a previous owner's cat who clawed the woodwork to shreds. Fortunately (s)he's friendly, so now we just don't worry about him/her. We never were pushed or anything like that. Just walked over.

Hope that back of yours heals as fast as possible.
