Dan Is Tweaking Me!

Bet that got your attention!  Tweaking sounds like your getting all your joints oiled or something but I looked it up in the dictionary and no it has nothing to do with oil.  If it weren't for bad luck I would not have any luck at all. lol

In all honesty Dan is not tweaking me ....he is tweaking my kitchen! If you remember Dan is the famous blogger fromYesterday Once More whose home was highlighted and written about in the wonderful Country Sampler Magazine.

Now a few post back I mentioned that Dan sure needed to tweak my kitchen because as you know when this ole country house was built they had kitchen in other buildings. My guess is this was the mud room at the back door and when they updated it this is where they put the kitchen. I have no drawers and one cabinet under the sink and one under the stairway. Very small counter space.

I sent him a lot of pictures of my kitchen to see what he can come up with. He promised to not overwhelm me. Since I am still recovering there is no hurry for him to do his tweaking but since he is so gifted as you will see when you visit his blog that I can't help but be excited.

Here are some of the pictures I sent Dan.

These two pictures are one side of the kitchen!

This is a picture of walking into the kitchen and seeing the other side of the kitchen opposite the two pictures up above. See the little stair way leading to the top floor.

On this wall it is just this stairway, a small closet underneath and then the refrig. No counter space so the microwave sits on top of the refrig. A small window on the end wall where you really can't put anything on the floor because of opening the frig.

Hated to show this. It is the space underneath my counter. Dan I love this wooden bowl what can you do with it.
Slept all day after my therapy and got up almost at the time for night time bedtime. So my two pain pills are kicking in and I am off to bed again.
Be sure and stop by Dans site and enjoy him as much as I have. I miss all of you!
Love to all
Maggie

Just like my kitchen.....My house was built circa 1862 & with all the "updates" over the decades some have to be removed. I do, however, love my cupboards & old farmhouse sink!!
Have a Great Day!!

Gee, I think it is all ready really cute but what do I know. Those stairs however look lethal.
Thanks for the Dan reminder. I went to his site and read the piano story. I just loved it.
I have him bookmarked now. What a nice person and such a talented man. Aren't you lucky being "tweeked" by the best?

Sweetheart...I'm really looking forward to what Dan has to say, and how he suggests you change up your little kitchen. I'd go bats! in a kitchen like yours. You're truly like a pioneer. I'm dying to see what you end up with. Glad to read you continue to improve. Good news all around, my friend.

I think those are some really cute pictures! It may be a small kitchen but wow, it doesn't take long to clean it up does it?

It will be interesting to see what Dan thinks.

Now that is one lovely kitchen. Don't wreck it. Very few people have a kitchen like it.

I remodeled our mobile home kitchen a few years back it was a transformation, especially the cabinets. I have REAL cabinets--not a bunch of wood nailed to the walls. And I lowered them for the upper cabinets for my chbby short arms.

I took one of your infamous falls Monday. so far, not as much damage but two humongous bruises/hematomas on my back--nothing broken. since I take Coumadin, we did a CT today to be sure no internal bleeding.

But then I don't know when I will hear the results. One could do a lot of bleeding before you hear anything!!!

I'm in love with your floor..your Betty Boop...your red walls and I think your kitchen is adorable, however the stairs look like the type from 100yrs ago! People were smaller and so were their feet I guess. I laughed at your Monday post with the joke, very cute and I'm glad you're getting better. I'm anxious to head over and read Dan's blog...I love Country Sampler!

From what I see your kitchen is beautiful, I cannot imagine how it will look after Dan's tweaking. Right now it looks so bright and cheerful, love all the white. It sounds like you would really like having more storage space so I hope Dan can help you figure out something there and something nice to do with your wooden bowl too. I will be looking forward to hearing what he comes up with.

I love going to Dan's site, it is very talented and always has something interesting to share and great pictures.

Love your site too sweet Maggie, you make me smile and feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Not when you are not feeling well and in pain though...that makes me want to get you all better.

Big hugs!!!

As always you guys make me smile. Thanks for all the great comments about my tiny kitchen.
Dan please don't worry about me over doing it. I am not doing anything to get in the way of my healing. I have got to get back to work.
Enough of this lying around in pain. lol
Hope all of you have a wonderful week. There is a storm brewing in the Gulf so we are getting rain from it.
Love
Maggie

Your house is charming. I do understand small old houses without a closet and steep stairs. I have one. Your decorating is light years ahead of mine. I'm going to keep watching

Your house is lovely...! I don't think I would dare to go up -- or down -- those stairs, though, after a couple of glasses of wine.

I'm going to keep watching for the updates. :-)

There are 2 thing sin life that make my day ... one is awakening each day & the other is popping over to see what you are up to today ... you are a kick, sweetie.

It will be fun to see WHAT Dan will do with the kitchen ... you are going to enjoy this, I am sure.

What great news that you are mending, slow as it may be ...

We've been away with 2 of the kid-lings, more later on that. Have a wonderful 4th, my friend ...

Your kitchen looks fabulous! Even if there is a major lack of storage space, at least it looks cute right! Love all the bright and cheery colors. Does the stairway stop at the ceiling?
Hope you are beginning to get some relief from the pain finally and have a great 4th of July girl!
